Holy fuck…check out the Alaphilippe crash.
A somersault over the bars at full gas.
I feel ill.

Cycling fans, check out the final climb up to Piancavallo, if you haven’t already seen it.
Almeida was attacked by Kelderman et al, but fought like a lion to retain the pink. A good 6kms or so of defence, all on his own.
Amazing stuff.
I saw highkights last night. Missed it live and the Alaphilippe crash (still haven’t seen it) as I have been in a massive sports sulk post Everton. Still not happy.
Massively brave ride by Almeida there I thought. I also missed how he got isolated. Big week ahead I think.
One take away from yesterday for me was how strong Ineos have been. That’s their 5th Stage win in this Giro. Thomas must be absolutely gutted.
Almeida was isolated thanks to Jai Hindley, good Aussie lad……Hindley just rode like a demon and set a cracking pace.
But yeah…brave as fuck, particularly with a camera in your face the whole way.
The JA crash…not pleasant and complete with agonised screams afterwards.
These guys are some of the toughest nuts on the planet IMO. When you look at what these grand tours physically do to the body you really question their sanity and the responsibility of the organisers.
Controversial opinion but from a health perspective it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s healthier to actually complete these races on steroids.
I still cant quite work out why cycling clothing manufacturers haven’t come up with a clothing material that at least reduces the road rash from a crash. Wont stop impacts obviously but the road rash is often the worse thing after an innocuous bump.
Rest day today right?
Yep. Big week to follow!
Interesting. Not sure how strong Ineos will be for the Vuelta but imagine Froome winning it, adding a massive bright moment to Ineos’s disappointing season before walking of to Israel
Just watching the highlights now…
You jinxed him…hahaha
Entirely predictable. That crash he had was massive, he was dreaming thinking he could get back to the same level at his age.
I disagree with the premise of the article also, I reckon Ineos have had a great Giro.
Is he out?
I’m way behind again.
Considering Ineos went there to win it i’d argue otherwise. Not a good year for them.
Not out, but he finished 11mins down on Roglic on Stage 1, and there are mountains again today…
clearly miles off still. Might not finish if he really struggles. Ctaching back up now.
I suppose Ineos have some hope in the Giro with Tao GH.
Cant remember if Ineos have gone into the Vuelta with a back up to Froome. Carapaz was second yesterday so that’s a good place to start.
Well Ben O’Conner is definitely on the Marmite.
HAHAHAHAAA
Not bloody likely.
There is absolutely no other legal explanation for it. Not even Weetabix.
You mean Weet-Bix??
Yeah, I’ve been acclimatised to te UK. I’ve even become more water proof
Carapaz going! And caught
Movistar haven’t had a single win anywhere since Feb…could this be the day??
Doubt it. They’ve not shaken everybody off.
Agreed…
