Obviously there is no rioters demographics data
Similarly Your logic would hold if ‘socially disadvantaged’ people from all backgrounds were offending here at the same rate. Do you have any proof of that? Or of the socially disadvantage level of the rioters. Id also suspect no
In terms of their documents, probably. In reality…
A bit like Erling Haaland isn’t English despite being born in England to immigrant parents
No indeed, I haven’t any proof of that. Maybe studies will be made in the future to enlighten us more in detail. However, it’s clear to me that the people doing this aren’t privileged children who make studies in good schools. They are looters for a reason, and they vent their anger for a reason, although a misguided one.
Relative isn’t it? They’re better off than the vast majority of people in the world. It’s not like everyone is rioting in burundi
And yes educated and civilised people are less likely to loot and randomly attack people. For a range of reasons, one indeed being wealth
Id argue that reason is they have no respect for or heritage in France and they enjoy watching it burn
When you think of them as immigrants rather than French or German or British then you’re not accepting of them as equals. I have no problem with people coming over and trying to keep their kids in touch with the heritage of the country the parents/ grandparents came from, ultimately the kids are going to be French, German or British if they are free to interact with those already seen as from those countries.
Was Haaland brought up in England?

Why not? I’m not saying they’re lesser beings. Im not Spanish but live in spain. If I have children with a non Spanish person my children won’t be Spanish either
It’s just reality. We don’t need to be afraid of it
No need for Spanish people to pretend I am the same as them
On haaland. For his first three years yes. If it had been ten years would he then not be Norwegian ?
Wealth, education, good and secure upbringing, settled family structure, avenues opening up for you to diverse privileged networks etc.
Compare that to being a child having the two parents to work 15 hours a day while hardly making a living for their family, living in a run-down suburb miles away from any good school, library or university, being universally despised because of your origins and your skin color, and having basically no chance to ever get out of it, despite of the state and the TV telling you all day long that it’s all and uniquely on you to make it.
It’s hard to be underprivileged in the midst of a hostile neoliberal environment, and that’s why I’m not surprised to see this kind of outbursts. Again, I’m not condoning these acts, they are disgusting and must be punished. But ultimately, it’s on the French state to tackle the underlying issues leading to this situation.

We’re talking about people whose parents/grandparents went to France, had children in France and have stayed there for decades with no intention of leaving. They now have grandkids. Those grandkids are french.
Had Haalands parents stayed in england, brought him up therefor 25 yrs then he’d have had the right to call himself English and not to be seen as an immigrant

Some or a lot of that is also culture. You walk down the ramble in Barcelona and when somebody steals your phone I bet it’s not a Chinese immigrant.
Imagine if I agreed with all the causes you list It’s still true that mass immigration has made that the reality.
Whether it’s fair or not on the kids.
But either way, whatever environment they and they alone are responsible for their own actions. Plenty of people from similar backgrounds don’t do what they are doing.
Even if they have no french ancestry?
If they intermarried with the locals then sure. They are
If not, debatable
Why doesn’t Haaland have that right now? What is the cut off?
Who gets to decide when you’ve “done your time” and can now be seen as French?

Surely that logic applies to your own argument?
Well at what point does an immigrant become French? If they’re pregnant when they arrive is the child french? Even if conceived in another country by two foreigners? Why is Haaland not English if he was born in England? When is the cutoff? Does it need to be a decade in the country? What makes somebody French? Is it literally just paperwork that can be handed out?
The same questions apply to your view point.
You’ve moved to Spain so are seen as an immigrant. If your intention at the time is to stay forever you may settle down and have children. Those children are spanish, their children are Spanish and so on. They may have British ancestry but they are still Spanish.
Calling those looters immigrants and not French just fuels division between people whose family have been in France for hundreds of years and those whose family are only there for a hundred years.

Nah. Their ancestors didn’t build Spain. They have no grounding in that country other than that they popped out of a vagina there. They would be English descended from a long line of English people.
Unless their mother was Spanish of course
I suppose they could have a document saying they’re Spanish. So in a legal sense they could be but they give them out in cereal boxes nowadays
It’s fine by the way. You don’t have to be from a country to live there peacefully. That was not my point

How much of England’s ancestry comes from outside England?Whatever percentage that is are the not English?
Depends how you categorise it
Id categorise it as having ancestors present when England was founded. You can do the Norman conquest if you want. A thousand years ago
Ultimately both our methods have a degree of arbitraryness
If it continues this way, there won’t be a state. I always believe that a healthy state needs to run on a balance of carrots and sticks. But it looks like some countries in the west are not able to provide enough carrots for their citizens and at the same time, no will in them to enforce the stick. It sounds like disaster.
