It’s being done through his production company, so his name is still attached to it but I have no idea what the turn to TV (and it’s near 10 year production) means about him taking the lead.
I love De Caprio but wasn’t blown away by Once upon a time in hollywood… It was ok, certainly watchable but just seemed to lack anything of great substance and just ticked along then ended.
On another note I’ve got Amazon Prime for my sins and The Mauritanian is a very very good watch.
I find that when I switch from say Netflix to BBC the sound is at vastly different levels - the worst is when I watch YouTube then switch to another channel - nearly blows your head off.
Is there not an accepted sound recording / broadcasting level that is used across all platforms? Or is something wrong with my TV?
You can ‘normalise’ sound level in TV settings. I don’t use this option as I feel any manipulation inferes a distortion. There are many reasons why the sound level changes even from one broadcast on the same channel to another. The biggest difference is from between channels and is mainly due to the quality they broadcast at I think. For me the worst is when certain broadcasts boost the bass as I have a subwoofer and end up having to reset the level (though now I have a TV with easy control of this).
This phenomena is also noticed between CDs well in fact any sound files, most just use the telecommand to adjust between each.
I tend to go for feel good films. ‘The Princess Bride’ and ‘The Producers’ (both versions). Also 'The Birdcage.
I quite like M Knight Shaymalan ‘The Sixth Sense’ and 'The Village.
If you get the chance to go to the Kyle of Lochalsh there is a small museum inside the castle dedicated to the film. That region of Scotland is a wonderful place to visit.
Well, Lambert can’t act. Or verbalise well enough in English to be understood - all his dialogue had to be dubbed in afterwards.
However, having Sean Connery playing an Egyptian Spaniard with a thick Scottish accent, and Mr Krabs chewing scenery as the bad guy is legendary and something a remake would miss out on.
I only recently found out that none of the dialogue in Flash Gordon is Sam Jones. He was kicked off the set before filming wrapped because he kept falling out with De Laurentiis who felt Gordon needed a manlier voice. So he fired Jones and hired a voice actor to dub all his lines, and poor Jones never worked again after Dino dragged him within the industry as being a primadonna.
