The Film Thread

Forgot he was in that. He was excellent. Plays the part really well. Well spoken and disarmingly menacing.

Reports that LucasFilm has finalized a deal with Simon Kinberg to lead work on a new trilogy of films. All sides are still officially refusing to comment so there is mixed information on whether this is a completely new saga or will pick up after the last one.

Fuck sake - in related news, that piece tells me they are in the process of doing a running man remake! Why? The first one is perfect for such a silly idea.

I was unfamiliar with Simon Kinberg but just looked at his IMDB. He has a very interesting list of credits behind him.

And a lot of total shit. Dark Phoenix - I assume Ive seen it because I tend to watch most of that stuff at some point but couldnt tell you anything about it. I know Sansa Stark was Young Phoneix. That’s about it.

1 day till season 2 of Arcane drops (1st three eps)…for anyone who hasnt seen it, watch season 1 before going to season 2…its brilliant…im a sucker for animation, this one in particular though is no ordinary ‘cartoon’ (as i lovingly refer to them)

Isn’t this the film thread?

If so, I saw ‘Blitz’ at the weekend and was very disappointed. McQueen is usually an interesting director and it was full of pyrotechnics (literally), but the story left me cold.
A bit of a waste of a great cast.

@cynicaloldgit, I had to go through Cage’s filmography on Wikipedia. By sheer volume, I think he might be the actor whose films I saw the most. However, when it comes to quality… Wild at Heart, Leaving Las Vegas, Face Off, Bringing Out the Dead, Adaptation, Mandy, Longlegs - aside from being awestruck by his performances in these films, as over-the-top as some of them are, I have to pay him the compliment of not being able to imagine any other actor being in his place in these particular films.

I loved that film. For some reason i thought it was going to be a horror film and so spent much of it waiting to see Zombies in the hospital

Come on, mate. He’s terrible, and only got a job through his uncle.
