The Film Thread

With the kids, watch the 2005 version of Charlie and the Chocolate factory.

What a complete pile of shit.

This was Patrick Swayze’s last film before he died.

We went old school in our house the past couple of weekends and watched Raiders of the Lost Ark and Temple of Doom with our 11 and 9 year old. They loved them.

Good movies transcend time and generations if the story is good.

They might like The Goonies then from way back.
It was a film Wayne Rooney got his first part in… Playing Sloth :0)

It’s notable how Peter Jackson directly lifted a number of scenes from Bakshi’s version (including the two you posted, as well as the bit in the inn where the ring falls onto Frodo’s finger), that either weren’t in the book, happened off-screen or were throwaway mentions.

Ha. We’ve watched that many times. You can see elements of The Goonies in Temple of Doom.

Talking about Peter Jackson. The Frighteners With Michael J Fox is a pretty good movie for say teenagers.

Not sure if it was a good thing or not… but mine used to love watching
No Retreat No Surrender…
For its time it was something that kept them glued to the screen…

I didn’t want to spoil it. some of his finest work.

Not seen it yet, but seeing your post peaked my interest and that was one of the things that came up on IMDB.

Just hope to remember it and get round to watching it

I watched it not knowing anything about it, and it didn’t disappoint. I’d hate to look into the storyline ahead of time and ruin it.

Quiet Place part 2.

Every bit as enjoyable as the first.

Look forward to the next.

Amazon films strikes again.

Watched “Clara” last night and it’s yet another surprisingly good film on this platform. Gets a big thumbs up from me.

We watched ‘I want you back’ on Amazon the other day as an attempt to get into the spirit of Valentines day.

Considering it’s a rom-com which are generally shit and not my genre of choice, it wasn’t too bad.

Those Who Wish Me Dead

Enjoyed this a whole lot, helps that its right up my alley in terms of genre & plot but there couldv’e been a little more back story on the 2 baddies side & the 1 giving the orders.

I thought that was Ghost?

Ghost?

That was after he died…

That was my Roadhouse mantra while skiing last week.
