I don’t understand people convinced this is a work. Nobody comes out of it looking good. Will Smith’s an insecure pip, Jada’s a miserable cunt, Chris Rock’s shouting “jokes” that aren’t funny, and the academy can’t protect the man they hired.
What’s with finding the GI Jane reference insulting ?
It’s mocking a medical condition (alopecia).
Two very under rated films - Hudson Hawk and Last Boy Scout.
Never saw Hudson Hawk, but Last Boy Scout is one of my favorite movies.
Watched Boiling Point a few days ago and was very impressed. Was concerned the one-take aspect would be a gimmick but it added to the tension and atmosphere.
8.5/10.
I liked how over the top he was in The Fifth Element, and I thought he was excellent in Twelve Monkeys.
Lucky Number Slevin and Mercury Rising are two particular favourites not already mentioned. I also loved the Red duology. Just love watching him on film.
I love a lot of his movies but The Fifth Element takes the cake for me. I adored it when I was a kid, I think it played a huge part in me falling in love with sci-fi.
Also, one film of his that is absolutely great but no one talks about is Looper. Quite possibly his best role, awesome movie, definitely his last good one.
Welcome to the party, pal…
I need to rewatch both those. Last Boy Scout was a favourite of mine waay back, and I seem to remember I liked Hudson Hawk as well. But it must have been at least 25 years since I watched it.
It’s sad to hear RE: Bruce Willis but he should’ve called it time 10 years ago, the number of films he’s been in that time where you think “why Bruce” is staggering. Plus it’s always better to have the choice rather than let it be taken out your hands.
Blacklight on Sky Cinema.
Entertaining 100mins but I’d like to watch a Liam Neeson film where his family isn’t a target……for once. Why does he opt to always play the good guy? Do something different Liam
You have to go back at least 20 years for Liam Neeson to do something other than the shit he’s been dialling in for the second half of his career. Michael Collins, Schindler’s List…superb films.
Darkman
Don’t know it. Any good?
Just seen he turns 70 this year. Sheesh.
Not particularly but I liked it. Was an OK movie at the time that spawned several sequels but I don’t think he was in any of them.
Tombstone with the family tonight, fabulous. Compensates for Dirty Dancing earlier in the week……
