Am I dumb or is this cover unreadable. What’s the book called? The World Simon Sebag Montefiore: A Family History? The Montefiore: World Simon Sebag: A Family History?

:rofl:It’s an outrageously bad cover design. Read it top to bottom and ignore the rings

I tried Burns’ new Revolutionary War piece last week, but there is just something I cannot get on board with his stuff. I think its an over reliance on quoting from historical sources in a way that REALLY lengthens out what he’s trying to convey.

Im sure I’ll eventually work my way through the whole piece, but for now 1 episode was more than enough

This is EXACTLY what the internet is amazing for. There is a literal world of knowledge at your fingertips. I used to put on Paul Freedman’s Early Middle Ages series all the time.

I remember this and wondering why he stopped. It wasn’t like they were meeting much resistance. It happened so quickly and was over so quickly that the details are blurry in my memory.

I do seem to recall active units joining him in Rostov and even now, would think that along the way more would have. I guess we will never know. Anyway, time to read back on it
