Today, it is 3 years since the day after the rebellion and the anniversary of this famous video from Magyar, posted, as he followed the events of the “March on Moscow” and the reports from Russian TV.

I remember this and wondering why he stopped. It wasn’t like they were meeting much resistance. It happened so quickly and was over so quickly that the details are blurry in my memory.

I do seem to recall active units joining him in Rostov and even now, would think that along the way more would have. I guess we will never know. Anyway, time to read back on it

I was on vacation for the US independence day holiday. Us and two other families stayed in this huge house on the canal that takes you down to the beach and I remember vividly being obsessed with the story through the whole trip. People were like “do you want to come out on the paddle boards?” and saying no because I had to listen to the new podcast that had dropped to see if anyone had a clue WTF he was thinking?

As I remember it he basically had a clear road to Moscow with no resistance and just stopped. I think there were reports of Putin making loads of promises to him if he stood down.

And the idiot believed him.

Ps. Would HIGHLY recommend a visit to the tapestry. It is truly maginficent. Do it without fucking toddlers, though…haha

Would also recommend you visit it in Bayeux. Beautiful town and just a short trip away. But now that it will be shown in London…

I know it´s after this book´s scope but that Colombus and then Hernando Cortes, Pizarro etc. just set sail off into the unknown like that just absolutely blows my mind.

Never mind that they then managed to forge empires. Imagine seeing the natives for the first time. Would have felt like the equivalent of meeting aliens.
