I’ve never understood why McLaren took so much stick for using a brolly, nor why more managers don’t use one. Is there something macho about standing on the touchline and getting soaking wet? I see nobody takes the piss out Klopp for covering up when it’s raining even though other managers don’t do it.
Anyway, he seems to have a very pleasant demeanour and doesn’t appear to be rattled easily.
BTW what’s happened to our Dutch feller? Did I miss something?

Exactly. For all we know, we are negotiating with one or two of our own players on new deals, and they want to know what’s happening with the new manager. And perhaps we are also sounding out a few possible incoming transfers, and likewise, they want to know.
So Slot talking a bit more openly is simply to help grease the wheels for everyone, as multiple people have a vested interest in wanting to know.
