The Hunt for Klopp’s Successor

Makes me a lot happier now that we swerved him.

No one came out of that well him or West Ham.

It’s probably time for a change let’s see if it’s more Paisley and less Hodgson.

I have no real view here. Don’t know much about Slot and don’t follow the Eredivisie either. Hope he is a top manager and does well. On the basis he becomes our manager.

Think we’d probably all prefer Alonso, as he seems to be the stand out. But that said, not sure why some would already write him off, Slot in this instance. Squad certainly needs improving nonetheless. Klopp has done wonders.

Arne will sort this mess out and give these players the kick up the arses they need.

No more going behind in games.

Next season will be our season again.

Oh and bring Mats Wieffer with you.

Up the barmy Arny!!

Yes, thought the same (almost), as the mainstay argument is the level of the Dutch League, which is really not saying much.

PS: @cynicaloldgit and @SBYM have all but given up by this point…

Managers can only do so much after all. They can only do so much with certain players or even clubs by and large. All managers naturally start from somewhere.

Similar with signing players to a certain extent, before they’re announced to the world. Identifying them early is key.

That said, we should be expecting a top manager, as a club of our size. Not suggesting Slot isn’t, just to be clear.

It’s not a great pool, though. Once Xabi took himself out of the equation, there isn’t that obviously world class name available (and even then, Xabi is early days career wise).

I think that a move to a sporting director led Head Coach system is no bad thing. We can’t leave ourselves in the position of needed a generational manager every time one leaves. Making the system the star is the way to go.

Can we change to ‘Welkom in Liverpool’ yet?

I’m happy with the reporting to Edwards as I’m still not 100% on Hughes.

Slot will find very little different and this is the role we probably had for Klopp but that started to break a little. Let’s face it this model is pretty much 90% of clubs now.
