The Hunt for Klopp’s Successor

If any fan base would give him time it’s ours to be fair.

Well ignoring some of the tossers on social media.

Walshy is already 95% of the way to “Xabi out” status

According to you. That’s purely speculation on your part.

It isn’t purely speculation because it’s been reported and said that Klopp needed (and yes maybe he even wanted it initially, or accepted it obviously) to be more involved in more stuff in the last year-two or so. We don’t know Jurgen’s “percentage” how much of it would he say drained him, but it’s not a wild guess.

There is also reporting that Klopp becoming “more involved” is what convinced first Edwards and then Ward to leave.

But in the interest of giving him help to reduce burden, it surely has to be called out how senior Pep has allowed to be in his role? Is there anyone else at this level who is given license to be responsible for an entire competition the way Pep is?

Hopefully they have Xabi’s preferred sporting director in the next couple of days. You obviously can’t have someone at the end of the season, and then get them to find a manager.

Japan as well, which is notoriously difficult to manage in

He’s won trophies in leagues where there are salary caps, fewer resources etc and it’s a level playing field. I don’t think we should doubt his ability to continue making the step up.

Alonso hasn’t won anything yet as a coach. He ticks a lot of boxes, don’t get me wrong, so he’s high up my list. But we have a few months to get this right.

also won the Japanese League title and a cup, and managed Australia in the World Cup,

hes a very good manager,

just because he won titles with Celtic in a shit league, just like VVD did, it doesnt mean he’s a crap.

Maybe a shout for Thomas Frank?

If he drops his chewing gum and changes his irritating squeaky voice… maybe.

Not. :joy:

Imo, Xabi has a lot of pressure on him now, top of the league vs a powerhouse with dominant resources, and already in the minds of all, heir apparent to Jurgen.

If he takes the league in Germany, that will show without a doubt he can handle the pressure. The only downside is that we will probably have to let him know before the end of the season, that he is the first choice , and if he doesn’t win it, then …. can he handle it? He will be facing this adversity vs 4-5 teams every season.

We surely can’t be making this decision at the end of the season. Is that not too late?

Seeing how he is going about things at Spurs means he is not right for this position. It’s a moot point anyway, won’t be leaving spurs for anyone. Nobody wants to pay Levy’s £80m release fee for a currently, above average manager.

Thanks for pointing out the game is on. Who’s who?

Making a decision and announcing it is different.

It doesn’t have to be at the same time, it rarely is anyway.

Bayern Leverkusen in black and Borrusia Monengoachbach in white.

Leverkusen playing a 3-4-2-1 I believe the formation is called. Lots of passing and triangles

If the preferred method is, find sporting director, then perform analysis to choose best manager option, time is ticking very quickly. Sporting director will have to be found within a month or two (as you say no need to announce now)

Put some respect on Bayer Aktiengesellschaft’s name.
