I think we all have to realise that up till now the season has not really started. They do not have Europe for contend with however that advantage was largely negated by having to play Grimsby in midweek and now with the International break curtailing Reuben’s prep time. Going out against Grimsby is actually a a scenario for the team that will prove a blessing with leaving Amorim and his staff no distractions and giving him the much needed time on the practice field that he has not been afforded since he took over.
The first part of the season was largely a free hit for United as they now go into this next phase with the time on their hands that they needed. It would not surprise in the least if this was planned ahead for as Amorim is a known lateral thinker who is ahead of everyone and while the results may seem underwhelming, it should be seen as part of the bigger picture that he is trying to get across with short term pain for long term gain. The board is firmly with him on this and will not waver from their convictions having invested heavily into Amorim thus far and all things considered, that is surely the logical course of action. The signs are all there that United are dominant in open play and the stats bear that out as well. Fans, players and the board alike simply have to stick, rather than twist.
Thinking of applying for a job at the Beeb, how did I do?
Tbh they have given rooney a job, he could have just sent audio of him farting and he’d make more sense than rooney, so i think wyld at hrt has a great chance .
How many goals do they have to concede with Bruno just standing idly watching? His stats show he works hard, but he doesn’t do it in the key areas that required of a player you’re asking to play this deep. It isn’t helping them move the ball up the pitch the way they want so it’s not even that there is a balance to consider. This as much as anything else seems like the anchor that is drowning them right now.
Tricky one. I think the Glazers may continue to see it as a cash cow, and if their family see it the same way too, it may be an intergenerational asset for them.
As for Ineos, they may stick around if they can find someone who’d be happy to run the football side of things if it becomes too much for Ratcliffe.
Also. W.r.t Bruno , we were linked with him and passed on the opportunity of signing him. He would have been a fine player for us. The problem at United is to do with the mismanagement of the players they’ve bought.
