Wasn’t too long ago they would try and lowball spend all summer and then pay the price. I assume they’ve been throwing these figures to the press to drive down the price Brentford wanted all a long. That or they keep low balling to the point Brentford are like lolz.
Doesn’t particularly sound like the player has his heart set eithier if Brentford can lift it time and time again.
Plan A - Liam Delap
Plan B - Viktor Gyokeres
Plan C - Victor Oshimen
Plan D - Hugo Ekitike
Plan E - Ollie Watkins
Plan F - Dominic Calvert-Lewin
Plan G - Mark Goldbridge
Problem with United is that they still seem to go swinging their dick around as if they were the United they were before.
They don’t have the same pull. They know it, the other clubs know it and the players know it. They’ll either have to accept that they’ll become a transition club for players now or resign themselves to paying exorbitant prices for players who aren’t quite good enough.
If they want the transition club mode , that means including release clauses etc etc. Still probably a better way to run things while they sort their shit out in the meanwhile. There are reasons why people join Brighton etc. Because they know that the club will sell them on when there’s a suitable offer on the table. United will have to become that club for the next 7-8 years if they are to survive this mess.
The previous mode of paying exorbitant wages for players just isn’t working.
As bad as Hojlund was last season, I would far rather roll the dice on another year of him with better options behind him than pay wages to some 28-year-old crock who had one convincing run of form in his entire career.
The number of people I have seen arguing that a top CF is the answer to all our problems and that Amorim is hard done-by because his striker can’t finish, which I think is a ludicrous over-simplification of the myriad of problems we have but if we assume there is a kernel of truth in it, then how on earth can we advocate for bringing in a guy who, even when healthy, has underperformed his expected goals something like 6 years in a row?
I know we can’t just spend our way out of this but there is a limit to how deep we should be diving into the bargain bin.
From Redcafe. Come on Mubseh . get your two cents in
Apparently Amorin has managed to get the plug pulled on plans for Utd to be the focus of the next season of Amazon’s All or Nothing Documentary series. This is obviously the right decision for Utd, but jesus fucking christ, what sort of shit show are they running over there to even get to the point of considering this seriously enough, at this moment in time, that the plug had to pulled?
Every time they make a statement about a new direction and having addressed their back room issues they show themselves to be fucking morons.
