The Man Utd thread (3)

5 wins in a row. Might even go for 3 in a row. 5 in a row is beyond United.

I’d give that clown good odds that Utd don’t manage five in a row this season.

He gonna look like Hagrid from Harry Potter in the next year or so :0)

I didn’t realise he was still doing it. I expect male pattern baldness to set in first.

This is pretty much the best thing I’ve ever seen, not least beacuse he looks like Bart Simpson in a wig in one of them…

We’re gonna have to win the treble to eclipse this as the greatest moment of 25-26.

It’s 2035, Manchester United are on their 20th Manager since the end of Fergie time and are still waiting for workmen to break ground on the proposed circus tent inspired stadium to replace the delapadated Old Trafford mausoleum of long forgotten successes. Marcus Rashford (still on the books at Ā£300k a week) is serving the journalists their pre-match meal so it’s time for our annual check in with the fan who back in 2024 refused to cut his hair until Man U won 5 games in a row.

If you remove the cups and consider we won the title with a month to spare we didn’t win 5 in a row in the league last season.

We did do five in a row due to the CL.

Is it five in a row Premier League games? Or give in a row any competitive game?

Still a tall order, but the latter is obviously much easier.

Seems to include cups then again Man Utd don’t have Europe this season.

Maybe they will beat the Dog and Duck early on in the Kangaroo Cup, so they only have to win four Premier League games?

Still beyond them, mind.

Isn’t that a golf tournament in the bottom right?

Tough league game up next for Utd as they take on the team 5 places and two points ahead of them in what could already be a season defining 6 pointer against the clubs big north west rivals … Burnley

Just a reminder that last season’s Premier League champions got the same number of points from these two fixtures last season.

It’s always nice seeing Man Utd drop points. I’m not ready to bury them yet though, unfortunately. They did do well against Arsenal, even though they lost. It was a toe-to-toe sort of game, and another day that result could have been different.

They didn’t hit the same level today and could only draw at the Cottage. Time will tell whether that was a bad result, or not too bad. I suspect the latter, as Fulham are a tidy side, especially at home.

Still, with five dropped points after two games, and given all the previous, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if they started to wobble. The quality has gone up and they are better up front in Cunha and Mbuemo, and we will know soon enough if they are still mentally fragile.

They are in the scenario I noted a little earlier in the thread. Burnley is now a must-win. Two points after 3 matches (two at home) puts them chasing the CL spots and building doubt. If they can get the win against Burnley, Amorim probably gets time. If they don’t though, September is not likely to build confidence in his management.

Let’s go Burnley! If Man Utd drop yet more points, they can stew over it during the international break. Love it.
