A part of me actually feels sad for Ruben, despite the moment of sheer delusion he comes out with once in a while, I actually donāt mind the guy and seeing him there staring down at the ground twitching his whole body really made me feel uncomfortable.
He hasnāt shown any signs of life. His winning record is now worse than any ManU manager since the 50s (and only one of those), including one who got relegated. The mantra was āgive him a pre-seasonā, and he just led his side to one of the clubās worst humiliations. There simply isnāt much basis to have confidence that he can turn it around. Even if the board wants to hold their nerve, I really donāt think the fans will if they enter September on 0-1 points, watching their CL hopes slip away already.
I certainly would not rule out ManU putting out feelers while letting Amorim take a likely beatdown from Citeh and Chelsea

Yep, they are now at the stage where even if they are not considering they are going to be fielding questions about it even if only internally. LBJ famously made up accusations of wife beating, and worse, about his opponents. He did it because he knew they would be forced to deny it and even that bring a negativity to the campaign. That is now the territory Utd are in. People might not believe they are going to bring in a replacement, but as long as the whispers are out there they are going to have to force people at the club to deny it.
