Zizzou is the one that scares me. He’s old school in that he is far more player focused that philosophy and so is the right sort of manager to walk into a talented but unbalanced squad and make them the best version of themselves. Additionally, one of this big imbalances is Pogba, and you’d think ZZ is probably the most likely of anyone to find a way to put him to his best use without hurting the team.
I still dont think there is enough talent in this side for them to win the league with ZZ, but he makes them a damn sight better and would be the catalyst to getting the right players in next year to plug those gaps.
You win a CL game like that and you have to celebrate. But it’s what happens in the minutes after the jubilation starts to subside. Utd were fucking shit and the response should have been a sense of relief that they robbed 2 or 3 points from a much superior Villareal side. They treat it like its evidence of the glory days being back. They cannot separate the outcome (late win in Fergie time) from the process (being shit vs spending 90 minutes banging on the door trying to force a winner).
