The Manchester United Thread: That's It. That's the Joke (Part 1)

Who cares.

I’d rather United get a few of these wins under their belt than be totally shit. Every result like that buys Gollum mk3 a wee bit more time.

They are miles away from being serious contenders. They were lucky not to lose 6-2 today.

I’ll admit that for years I felt sick before ANY Utd game…didn’t matter where each team was on the table at that moment, or what form they were in. Either team could beat the other on any occasion.

Not so anymore. Lots of ordinary players made even worse by a fraud of a manager.

If we’re anywhere near our best when we play them it will be a bloodbath.

We give them too much respect every year IMO. I would want us to play considering them as a smaller team (which they are) in atleast one of the games this season and give a nice thrashing they deserve for so long.

So looks like we need another centre back and right back a year on from spending £130m on those exact positions.

lol

Crystal Palace will be disappointed to find that they have now lost last weekend’s match, as United have today scored 3 penalties in their absence.

Yep, forwards literally train themselves to step across the challenge - it’s good forward play not cheating.

As say that as a former CB! You give the striker the opportunity to get a penalty then it’s the strikers fault if he takes it. Simply have to defend better than that.

Agree. I was told that by my uni football coach back in 1990.

He had strong links to United

So how long will it take for the United hierarchy to realise that the project is in uttar shambles and all these costly purchases aren’t even doing a proper patch up job?

Hopefully forever.

Amen to that brother.

When shirt sales drop

When they’ve gone 10-15 years without a league title, top players refuse to even speak to them about a transfer, they’ve not been in Europe for several years meaning sponsors no longer see them as an attractive perspictive so they don’t have lose revenue and fans realise they’re utter shite so the old toilet bowl is no longer selling out week in/week out

I hope on the contrary it’s better never than late.

Alarm bells might start ringing when new sponsorship deals aren’t as fruitful and they start losing their financial position.

Not qualifyinf for next years CL will not be good for Ole either

Yup if you look how the owners are elsewhere you will realise that top 4 and shirt sales is probably their aim every season.

Get in Steptoe. That’s my boy.

oops … wrong thread.

Ole made a wise crack yesterday about Jose and the size of the goal. Presumably it was in reference to Brighton hitting to woodwork so many times, but it didnt really make sense. And clearly Jose was going to take it as a dig. So, today, Jose fired back

"I understand that for him the dimensions of the goalposts are not important for him. What is important for him are the dimensions of the 18-yard box.

“He would never accept to play with a 17-yard box. I think he would prefer a 22-yard box. For him it would be better.”

Choose your enemies wisely. Challenging or even mentioning Jose when there’s no reason or intention is self destructing. Especially for someone clueless like Ole. Press conferences and taking on opposite managers and players is child’s play for Mourinho.
