The Manchester United Thread: That's It. That's the Joke (Part 1)

All United needs is a penalty before the game starts now to create a history.

How the fuck isnt this a penalty and the thiago challenge counts as a penalty ? Shitty umpiring.

Knob head McManam on BT argued that Brighton man stepped across in to Pogba to initiate contact so its not a penalty.

That’s shitty reasoning. Every forward in that position would step across mainly to cover Pogba’s approach if not to draw the foul. This wasn’t a soft contact too.

Look at Pogba’s leg for fucks sake!!

They have been like that since Fergie left.

He did. That doesnt make it not a foul. That is textbook forward play precisely because it means the defender has to back off or concede a pen.

As I said, the only way to decide that isnt a pen is to start with the position that you’re not going to give it then try and craft some shitty excuse for it.

If the match is over, surely its over. What next?
Teams called back from the dressing room because of a missed decision?
Its fucking nonsense, VAR or not, the match is over at the final whistle.

Fully agree from minute it was given they were finding an excuse why it wasn’t.

On the issue of the final whistle having already gone, apparently the rules for VAR explicitly address this. The threshold for VAR no longer being able to intervene is once the officials have left the pitch.

Once again, nonsense

Explanation of why the penalty decision was correct

Still a bunch of cunts tho.

So Brighton players should have left the pitch immediately after final whistle :grimacing:

No, it’s the match officials that need to have left the field of play.

I think the easy way to fix this is for the linesman on the tunnel side of the pitch be instructed to leg it down the tunnel as soon as the final whistle is blown. Would be interesting to see what the ruling is if 1 of them has gone, but the rest are still on the pitch

Penalty if it’s Manchester United; game is already over for anybody else.

I posted above why it was a penalty so whats the problem?

When I was a kid playing football my older brother(and much better at me than football&fighting) always had last minute penalties or do overs otherwise he would twat me one.
United have the same mentality.
The Greek police thought the Laws applied evenly but Muguire is showing them “The United Way”

Well if it keeps everyone associated with United that everything is fine then I’m all in on Fergie time and last minute penalties every now and then.

Yeah a few years back Hertha got a penalty at half time I believe they came out and took it after going into the dressing rooms.

I kind of expected to see it one day, if it had been Brighton we would have been laughing, as I said couldn’t care less they are shite and this just papers over the cracks.
