The Manchester United Thread: That's It. That's the Joke (Part 1)

Id love to see him sulking for 6-12 months

He’s been sulking for the last twenty years.

Rumors that they’re working with Dybala’s agent on a deal.

If that happens, then it’s concrete proof that they haven’t learned a fucking thing, and that Ten Hag is out of his depth.

They need to make a marquee signing (especially in forward positions).

Dybala would be good for them , but why would anyone want to join a trainwreck (If not for the money) ?

Dybala is shite and injury prone. Would be a disaster for them, as it’s widely reported he’s a toxic prick.

Hope they do it, the cunts.

A toxic club requires a toxic prick.

floppy toxic pricks. wouldn’t have one for free.

Dybala is an awful idea. Poor Donnie is probably sitting back thinking that if they want to get someone who can get in the way of Fernandes they already have him.

Dybala?

Let me check this again; vdBeek, Eriksen, Fernandes, Ronaldo, potentially Frenkie and Dybala.

How the hell do you create a functional team out of that?

He isn’t the main problem in midfield though. It’s the United born and bred lad in McTom who’s the clusterfuck

So basically Utd are now us under Rodgers… Ten Hag just signing the Ajax team.

It is going to take some time for Ten Hag to establish order. Overpaid ‘stars.’ Teams wanting to fleece them whenever they go in for a player, due to previous poor dealings. The Ronaldo saga.

I’m not sure what success looks like for them next season. If they finish CL that would be overachieving. A realistic goal should be to finish Europa, but also to work through their issues, clearing the decks a bit, losing out on some players, necessarily for the big picture, and learning to play in the way Ten hag wants.

Then another season of that and after two years of Europa they are more realistic top four candidates, and the club has stabilized and can kick on again?

That has to be the hope over there.

it remains to be seen whether or not they are all on the same page, and as for the owners, they continue to bleed it dry with dividends and their debt payments loaded back onto the club. If ever the cash cow dries up to the point that it looks precarious for them, they will have already made tons of money, and will do so again, selling the club (the name more than anything) to another nation-state for billions. Ugh.

I remember DJ Spoony doing that once. Can’t remember the occasion though.

Goldbridge is probably three steps away from turning on Ten Hag

He’s doing a rant about Ten Hag giving the players a second chance. What else is any other manager to do then. You can’t integrate more than 4 signings in a transfer window. He has to motivate the existing turds as best as he can.

There has been a fascinating evolution at Utd that seems to have gone under the radar. If you go back to Jose’s tenure and most of Ole’s they were a team underperforming…a team that was not getting the performances or results they should be getting from the talent they had available. It was a mark of a side poorly put together, badly incentivized (towards self-aggrandizement not winning), and seemingly with bad attitudes. Over the past couple of seasons they’ve slowly evolved into a team that only has the talent to finish 6th, and that despite continuing to spend massive amounts of money
