The Middle East Thread

And speaking of Blumenthal , and racist Israeli attitudes , and for anyone who hasn’t seen it before , here is a short video he made in Jerusalem back in 2009 on the eve of Obama’s Cairo address. The video went viral and was promptly banned just about everywhere.

@cynicaloldgit is right, humans are the disease.

This has been a result of indoctrination from both sides.

Mullahs keep preaching hatred of the Jews against the right of Israel to exist.

Rabbis keep preaching exactly the opposite.

2 sides of the same fucking coin. Sooner or later even the irreligious amongst both the population are going to get taken in by this.

The end game for them imo is to build a big wall of hate, distrust and total inability to try living together. The fascists around Netanyahou need this to consolidate their power.

Surely some of them are also playing with the idea of total obliteration of Palestinian presence in Gaza and the West Bank.

This is the most perplexing thing though. Even if all the Palestinians in Gaza , and those without citizenship in the West Bank , were forcible removed , that still leaves 2,000,000 Arab Israeli citizens. What the fuck lies in store for them ?

If you follow the ill logic of these people, the conclusion would be that after having removed the Palestinians of Gaza and the West Bank, they’d start removing these ones too, obviously. This kind of people never stops and always finds new targets for their hate.

Of course, it doesn’t need to come to that. A firm No coming from the US would be enough to immediately stop all of this. It didn’t come with Biden, and probably won’t come with Trump. But who knows after all…

Forced assimilation. Apartheid. Basically whatever is the current state of Israel as it is now.

I’d still say that no matter how pathetic the state of the Arab Israelis is , it’s still preferable to being in Gaza. I can even say it’s not much different from non -citizens in the rich Emirati states.

There’s no guarantee that the Palestinians at this point of time can form a viable nation. Both Israel and the Palestinian leadership have ensured that it can’t come to pass.

Atleast the Arab Israelis have the chance to get themselves and their children educated , live without the (relative) fear of getting bombed by Israel etc etc.

That to me , as of the current status quo , seems far more preferable to the alternate.

And what’s to say that the Shariah loving bastards that are the Hamas and the ilk won’t just do a Taliban and further regress their society.

The girl’s mother is a horrible human being. Doing that to an 18 year old boy?

Exactly. To be honest, why people want to go to a cesspit like that is beyond my understanding.

Get why people go from poorer countries, but to give up the freedoms of a well-developed democracic country isn’t something i would be willing to forgoe. But I guess everyone has their price.

Footballers go there too.

I’m not in favour of them visiting there but wealth gives a different privilege in Dubai.

It’s like an oversized Disneyworld. Except crass with its excesses. And completely fake. When you see where the “help” live you feel disgusted by how they are treated.

Whenever I’ve been near what passes for Middle Eastern “luxury”, the only thing that really comes to my mind is that it’s so plastic. Literally plastic, as in made of plastic, rather than the solid materials I’d associate with luxury.

Plastic requires oil.

And hence.

As the saying goes , money can’t buy class. But it can definitely present crass.
