The Middle East Thread

A thoughtful article that made some impression upon me at least

Absolutely atrocious. I hope that Netanyahu will one day be faced with his crimes, and that he’ll not get any kind of leniency then.

This guy , and the guys around him, have now clearly devolved into murderous psychopaths. It’s clear for all to see, and anyone choosing to ignore the evidence is complicit.

That “Death to the IDF” chant at Glastonbury was moronic, but people falling over themselves to renounce it as anti semitic is exactly the problem. It is not more antisemitic than saying you think Peter Sutcliff should be hanged is wishing harm on people from Yorkshire.

The new reality is that anything and everything is now antisemitic. Even reporting on children dying from deliberate malnutrition.

I notice also the BBC refused to broadcast the Kneecap set live.

Only if it applies to the current Israeli regime. When Ed Miliband was subjected to actual antisemitism, everyone sniggered and turned a blind eye to it.

If he’d said ‘death to Hamas’ no one would have given it a second thought

What isolation? Did USA stop supplying arms? Did Europe stop providing diplomatic/political patronage? Did the Arabs distance themselves? It looks more like insulation than isolation.

Thanks for sharing.

Just what we need, another Kitos War

The greater israel project. Why am I not surprised ?

(…) In this report Ms Albanese names companies she says are profiting from, and therefore complicit in, war crimes in Gaza.

Her list includes arms manufacturer Lockheed Martin for selling weapons, and tech firms Alphabet, IBM, Microsoft and Amazon for providing technology which allows Israel to track and target Palestinians.

She also lists Caterpillar, HD Hyundai, and Volvo, which her report claims have supplied vehicles used for demolishing homes and flattening bombed communities.

Financial institutions are included too - Ms Albanese claims banks BNP Paribas and Barclays have been underwriting Israeli treasury bonds throughout the conflict. (…)
