That performance seemed to be largely responsible for Bowie’s version being rediscovered. It was mainly known as a Lulu song before that.

I think Bowie himself started performing it live on his next tour.

I think the MTV performance as a whole, generated a lot of good publicity, hence the tag on to the Bowie song
It is a tune that gets into your head, that is for sure :0)

Watching the closing ceremony at the Olympics. Haven’t got a clue who the main band is as my music knowledge is lacking.

But they are very good.

Big sound, anthemic sort, with the Stade de France eating out of the palm of their hand. The athletes are letting their hair down having a great time. Love to see it.

Arguably Liverpool’s greatest songwriter since Lennon and McCartney , Michael Head with a track from the brilliant Dear Scott album of a couple of years ago.

Tom Jones is doing a show and singing in Liverpool tonight.
Inevitable really, but as he gets older, it appears his very excited fanbase have as well…
Incredible singer though, still belts them out like he was a young man.
Anyway, here are a couple of pictures taken by the Echo…

They making sure when they throw these at him, they ain’t going to miss :0)

Just like the LFC open top CL parade, bunting everywhere

You can just feel the excitement jumping down the camera lens

Just for those closet TJ fans on here… the man himself.!

Would be good if @Maria or @Wilkored08 could send across a couple of live reports from the gig tonight :0)
