We were only lauding Pulp the other night, A Different Class indeed, probably the best of all of that Britpop period. Just brilliant down to earth relevant songwriting. Cocker is a top producer now likely with very little talent available for him to produce.

Staggering, 10yrs passed so so quickly. Ive been threatening to jaunt off to Berlin to retrace his steps and soak up some icy Euro music vibes for some time now, a trip which is long overdue. Hansa apparently charge admission just for a walk around. Some of the photos from the Heroes recordings are some of the most iconic in rock history. Ive tried to buy. a print of the one with Bowie, Fripp and Eno at the end of Heroes, still not managed to get it delivered

Super heavy show Friday night with

The Black Dahlia Murder, Heaven Shall Burn, and Sylosis.

But more chill Saturday night with Smith/Kotzen. But equally enjoyable in a different way. Sprung a great surprise for us when Bruce Dickinson showed up and they did Maiden’s Wasted Years.

We going for the German and Austrian vote.

It’s actually pretty now to be fair. I’ve heard very similar stuff from various indie/alternative acts in the last few years.

I saw Pulp in front of the Sydney Opera House the other day. Fabulous gig.
I wept uncontrollably when they played this wonderful song. What a absolute gem!

Still brilliant, still relevant. What have we learned from history?

This is one of mu top 5 Pulp songs. Love their work. He always tell a story in the song and you can relate to his lyrics on mundane life. I love this one .

Yes, good choice M. I used to go to the Bar Italia when I lived in London, and it’s a pretty accurate depiction :slightly_smiling_face:

Me too, i went a few times, when zi didn’t want to catch the night bus.

I went in there last year early, like 6 pm and had a coffee for nostalgic reasons. It still looks the same, the ambience, the calmness, only different faces. :slightly_smiling_face:

Those were the days😊

This is a weird coincidence. When they announced a few days ago that nature scenes were going to be featured on the new Bank Of England notes there were a few wags who suggested that the £5 should feature a rabbit (a reference to Fiver the rabbit from Watership Down).

Now when that film came out it wasn’t a particularly happy time for me. Aside from the film being notoriously grim (although a brilliant animation), my father was terminally ill and I had to spend some time in care with relatives. After the film came out, the theme song by Art Garfunkel (Bright Eyes: again, a beautiful song but mournfully miserable) was on Top Of The Pops for about two months afterwards just to cheer me up every Thursday night.

Anyway, I was just driving back from the doctor this morning and the German radio channel decided to stick it on. I arrived home in bits. So, just to ruin everyone else’s day, here’s the dead rabbit song:
