The Owners - FSG (Part 2)

Trust we getting free next day delivery on that deal.

I really hate these billionaires accumulating so much wealth and who have no idea how the rest of the world struggles to pay bills and put food on the table. For them is a novelty having a football club. The thought of Bezos and his ilk sitting in Anfield makes me sick. What to do. It is not in our hands.

I like @RedOverTheWater idea of the 50+1 rule like in the Bundesliga, but i can’t see it happening in the Premier League.

These billionaires have no idea what the beautiful game means to us, the ordinary working public. We give 90 minutes of our lives every week to watch matches and spend hours on forums like TAN to discuss our clubs and players. It is our kind of relaxed/therapy time from a stressful day at work or family issues.

I don’t know how to cope with it really.
I am not happy.

well, nobody gains that much wealth except through exploitation. But for a summarised version, google ā€œurine bottles amazonā€

There’s always a back story to these people…are they being given shares…with the idea of future ownership…and these people never say openly why they have bought shares…sneaky buggers…

Can we assume the outraged have never taken an Amazon delivery from a bloke who’s just pissed in a Coke bottle?

Exactly! There needs to be transparancy and honesty. They need to tell the supporters what are FSG’s long term plans, to stay as a majority owners or gradually go and hand over the club to someone else who is the ā€˜custodian’ of the club?

i think its fairly obvious that fsg is gradually pulling out. henry is 76 years old. i give it another 3-4 years at themost and it will be sold to someone else

These people come about with the wealth because they receive cia funding, same as google ( which bezos owns a fair whack of as well and vice versa)

It’s been a good run, and I’m excited to see what Iraola does with this team, but I’m dangerously close to just moving on with my life and leaving Liverpool Football Club behind.

I think if FSG are just short term owners looking to pull a fast buck, they would be open to criticism. But if I am not wrong, they are the longest serving owner of a PL league club and has shown to be by and large reliable owners. I think divesting shares at a good price are definitely going to be on the cards for any investment but I think by them holding on a majority share still, they are still in for the foreseeable haul.

All the FSG out brigade are now the no Bezos brigade. Make up your minds.

But then you wanted Dubai ownership right?

Oh but you also want us to spend millions to buy the best…..

It’s just all a series of compromises since football became big business.

And yes… we used to be owned by a gambling firms family.

Because they can. Because we’ve allowed money to become the most important resource, more important than people and the planet.

I don’t use Facebook or Amazon, and I’ve been avoiding buying American products as much as possible for many years now, but I refuse to worry about who owns our beautifull club because, unlike my decision not to buy US products, I have absolutely no influence over that.

One of them is a football guy right? So there is a little bit of hope

I remember when there were arguments on here about what exactly it was the club stood for in the past…lol…those were the days…

I am very much a Johnny-come-lately…but even I can tell this fucking stinks to high heaven.

Even a massive dose of Goldbridge tears isn’t worth this.

There is no easy answer, seems everyone capable of buying our club will have skeletons or detractors.

I use facebook and through it just had one of the best nights out with my old mates back in my old stomping ground in England.

Without facebook this bunch of 60 year olds wouldn’t have got together to drink a few beers and reminisce about old times and old friends who have gone too early.

If you use platforms for positive they can be great tools.
