The Owners - FSG

This is precisely what’s happened. The club identified Thiago as being his replacement as they were both entering the last year of their contracts.

Liverpool are set to receive a cash injection of £4.4million after Koeman has decided to keep Coutinho at Barcelona. If the Brazilian makes 15 more appearances for the Catalans, the add-on fee becomes payable. :clap:t2:

Why the fuck aren’t FSG loaning us £400m to compete with the likes of Chelsea and Spurs.

Oh wait - those minor thing called stability and sustainability.

Insightful as always from swiss ramble - but within hours the twitter mad bunch will be kicking off as usual moaning. Can’t win really.

Just want a summary? Winlink claimed entitlement to an introductory fee for Bet Victor’s sponsorship of Liverpool. Claim successfully defended by club.

Interesting point in a Q & A by Pearce

Why are LFC rummaging around looking for spare change to makes signings when every other club apart from Burnley are out spending money? All have been equally effected by COVID and not many have our resources and income. (Ciaran Q)

There are a number of factors. Firstly, Liverpool’s wage bill is a lot higher than the vast majority of Premier League clubs. Secondly, FSG have always run Liverpool as a business that needs to live within its means. They don’t take any money out but they also don’t put their own money in. So less revenue coming in means less money to invest in the squad. Thirdly, other clubs are in a position where they were so far behind last season that they feel the need to take risks and gamble. Some have taken out loans in order to pay for their spending this summer. FSG haven’t gone down that route. Fourthly, they have just spent £50 million building a new training ground and are committed to spending another £60 million getting the Anfield Road End redeveloped starting in 2021, so money has been committed elsewhere.

Thats great news and well something I’d much prefer than signing Werner for example.
