The Owners - FSG

We will definitely have some room to make a few moves. Hopefully we get it right and challenge at the top again next season.

Man that was a lot of garbage to get down here. I swear ARD is back.

This business like all businesses are cyclical. We as fans want nothing else than to be the best all the time. It’s why FM and FIFA sell so many copies, but the reality every team (yes even city) run through these transitional periods. Some teams it last years, the great ones it only lasts 1 year. Our measuring stick is going to come next season. Be patient, let’s enjoy some crap footy and watch us sneak into top 4 end of season when everyone shits the bed. We are chasing Newcastle and Spurs FFS.

Well said pal supporter at all times but always hope things get better than our current form

Just seen us being linked to Liberty Media in the twitter thread.

They apparently have a small % of the Atlanta Braves who I was a fan of back in the 90s when the Turner Network started showing their games in the UK.

I think they are a vehicle for John Malone who is famous for his extensive use of debt to build his cable TV business back in the 80’s through purchasing other companies, and for his use and popularisation of EBITDA as a tool for valuing businesses (as it represents a firms cashflows before much of its capital expenses).

They recently bought about 5% of shares in Vodafone, and have talked about buying more of the company.

There is a chapter about him in the book 'The Outsiders ’ by william thorndike.

Malone is a big MAGA crank and the person primarily behind CNN trying to become, in his words" more like Fox News"

If it’s investment I’m not too bothered, I haven’t a clue who is involved in Red Bird for instance.

Hope those miserable cunts who organized the plane could still enjoy the win despite our horrible owners.

They’ll not be happy until we’re dropping £100m on players with 6 month’s experience in the Primeira Liga

That’s a bad take. Maybe just widen your horizon.

I think the telling thing here is that no one seems to have claimed responsibility for doing it. Imagine spending the kind of money something like that would cost and not wanting to put yourself front and centre to take credit.

Shows what a bunch of shithouses they are.

Might have been different if it had been a frustrating 0-1 loss

Very true. Of all the games to do it before that one is somewhat glorious.

It’s like those #FSGOUT idiots on social media.

Anyone can grow some balls on the internet.

Badly worded question in the poll.

How many signings do FSG need to fund for the rebuild?

It’s not like 4 signings in the summer and then we’re done.

The timing of all the interviews done so far for this season has been very strangely perfect. News about the ownership went deadly silent during the bad run LFC have.

When LFC got defeated by Brighton twice in a row, got defeated by Wolves, failed to win against Crystal Palace and bottled the lead against Madrid, where were they? Certainly not at Sir Kenny Dalglish stand.

Whereas any good result like how LFC has, FSG comes out to proclaim they are committed more than ever and most importantly proclaiming their model is right. I stand to be corrected in the timing of FSG’s recent PR releases.

Unlike what @Mascot said, FSG are not #FSGout themselves but as we see from their latest release, they firmly insisting they are right, while criticising other forms of ownership despite the different crisis the coaching staff had over the years.

If they are committed as they say, it is surprising there aren’t any news of an incoming DOF despite the prep work to be done will take much much longer than usual due to the overhaul needed in the engine room where we will likely have 4 midfielders leaving and potentially Matip leaving.

Once the season ends, we cannot be starting the legwork of multiple transfers after 28th May. It will only end up in disaster like what we’ve seen in 1st Sept 2022 and 1st Feb 2023 and we will have a season like this again.

Apologies for being grim after the spanking of United, but it feels like FSG is just giving false hope to the fans and the coaching staff where they are truly obsessed on proving to the world that their model is right and others are unsustainable rather than caring the fact that LFC is 21 points behind the league leaders and 16 points behind a similarly transitional Man City.

Looking at the spends that LFC has over each season, we have never spent more than 100 million at one season’s transfer windows( both summer and winter) without multiple departures that has recouped a significant amount of cash back and/or a huge single departure with a huge transfer fee.

The coming window for this season will be vastly different for them as they will not have much cash recouped unless they decide to sell the club’s current best player (in terms of Form and Stats) to PSG.

If we are just trying to beef up midfield depth correctly, it would be to relegate the current starters to the bench while we get players that is better than them to be in the club like getting Bellingham to replace Keita/Hendo and getting someone to rotate with Thiago on a regular basis without a drop in standards. That will need a lot of serious money.

What I think LFC will get is a bunch of backups to replace the departures and FSG to tell the press they have backed Klopp fully in terms of numbers. Any drop in standards will not be FSG’s problem.

Glad to see Mike Gordon is still around.

Actually some have taken responsibility for it. But there you go.
