The Owners - FSG

Interesting. Thx. To add, I remember years ago the owner of Twitter saying that lovely as it was, he was struggling to monetise it.

There’s an argument to be made that Twitter/X is not a traditional business enterprise for Musk, and the money doesn’t really matter. He bought it for 44B and it is now worth ~15B. It has been disastrous by the usual metrics.

But the argument would say that he purchased it as a communication tool and a way to influence the masses. It also helped put Trump into the White House.

My bet is he would sack the tea lady, stewards, ticket staff, club shop staff and anyone else that isn’t earning first team wages,

The concept of Musk owning us would surely go down like a lead balloon in the Land of Scouse and elsewhere.
His attitude to workers is abundantly clear, wonder whether Anfield would be filled again, you’d need to be a millionaire to buy a seat.

They had made considerable progress on that - Musk was undoubtedly mostly attracted by the platform, but the peak revenue ($1.6B in Q1 2022) was just before he initiated his take over. X is struggling far more to monetize it now than they were even seven years ago.

More or less Ineos with a hint more antisocial behaviour

He can build what he wants, i wont be there to drool over some perceived success which has ultimateiy been achieved by throwing money at it to feed his ego.

Its easy coming up and going after the ā€œcrazy ideaā€ when finance isnt a constraint.

I do think he will get a rude awakening somewhere along the line though. The US has a more relaxed attitude than the UK and other places

Have you read Prophet Song?
Its a vision of the future, albeit a fiction novel that leaves you wondering about the trajectory of the western world.
Musk promotes the far right idealism, and if you support that stance then thats your right.

I disagree with the ā€œsafe handsā€ comment because we wouldn’t be. He is destructive and the history and values of the club would be destroyed.

Maybe your post is to seek a bit of contrary debate, but I for certain would be gone if this ever occured.

For clarity
@WeeJoe
I really don’t think this will ever happen.

Edit
PS, sorry to read that you are unwell, I hope you are better soon. Horrible infections doing the rounds at the moment.

Liverpool is a city traditionally associated with socialism. There are literally no right wing MPs within its boundary. The thought of Musk, with his extreme right wing views and vehemently anti socialist stance taking over our club will go down like a lead balloon with rank and file supporters. Shankly would turn in his grave.

I don’t get the hate for Musk. I fear his influence but I don’t hate or dislike him for it.

When you are as brilliant as he is then you often get equal amounts of genius and crazy. Channelled the right way it is good, but you need to protect yourself from his crazy side.

That said… I hope he stays away from sport in general.

He is a sociopathic narcissist misogynist white supremacist toxic masculine, who is currently on a mission to destabilise and undermine democracy and back far right hate groups seize control of nations.

Hope that helps

but his mother was a hamster. I don’t want to talk to him no more, he is a empty-headed animal-food-trough wiper. We fart in his general direction.

Let us not go to Twitter… for it is a silly place.
