Grim.

With most of his things wouldn’t he need a government to leverage it.

It was widely reported on but continues to be largely ignored, but Musk was merely the public figurehead of a conglomerate that purchased twitter. He did not put up 44m to buy it

I can say with as close to certainty as I can about anything that not only will he not buy us but that he has no actual interest in doing so. He is in the process of inserting himself into the conversation on British politics and has a vested interest in attention being paid to him.

Didn’t they use a structure whereby all of the other parties hold preferred shares (i.e. debt) and he is the only one with simple equity? So, he isn’t out 44B, but he is nonethless responsible for having evaporated 29B?

Probably. There was definitely reporting on that sort of structure, but it’s pretty opaque.

Yes, I know he didn’t personally lose all that money. He took the company on a downward spiral so its valuation was more than halved, and it became a much smaller extremist cesspool in the process. There were various backers, including a lot of Middle East money.

You mean, you want him off to Mars? I hope that will be the case rather sooner than later!

(and if the rocket can explode on its way to Mars, all the better!)

Thinking about it, maybe that would indeed be appealing for him: infiltrate a bastion of so-called ‘lefties’ and ‘wokes’, and starting behaving like a bull in a China shop.

It would be horrible for everyone associated with this club, but I can see him being attracted by such a perspective, as the maniac he is. LFC is a major symbol of the city, and if he wants to use that symbol to propagate his right wing theories, money will never be a problem. He’ll throw billions at JW Henry until the latter calls it a day and cashes in.

The chances of the above happening is almost zero, but the word ‘almost’ annoys me quite a bit…

Most of the money was conventional banks, who have been unable to follow their usual practice of selling that debt on.

I stand corrected. I thought Qatar put a lot of dough in.

Still, the main point I was speculating over is that Twitter/X may not be viewed as a normal investment by Musk, but instead, a very useful mouthpiece to influence the masses. So far it has been instrumental in putting Trump back in the White House. Ugh.

Qatar Holdings was/is(?) part of the conglomerate, but it was the Saudi Kingdom Holding Company that is the biggest gulf player. They are reported to have the second biggest stake, albeit small in terms of control. The guy that owns it is a secondary royal, but was one of the elites arrested and held in the Four Seasons in MBS’ mini coup.

Wow, the first time must of been really bad.

If the Musk rumours come from his father then you know its complete BS. He is not close with his father and I would liken it to taking news from the scummiest non shining tabloid and treating it as fact.

He’s not going to shag you.

It came from the Sport though… it’s slightly more reliable than the Scum, what with it alien anal probe stories.
