The Owners - FSG

I think I stopped caring about morals regarding the ownership a long time ago. So many compromises have been made at this point that we might as well get the biggest sugar daddy there is. What FSG tried to do was to kill what’s left of the soul of the club and of football in general so that they could line their pockets. At least, a sugar daddy would probably not be doing it for the money. I understand people’s arguments - just putting forward a different point of view. I have seen what the commercialization of sports over here has done and it really is soulless.

Oh and get ready for us to become a PLC. They will float us on the stock market at a ludicrous price, much more than 2 billion for the IPO and that will be their exit strategy. They will probably be saying “Oh look how great we are - we are letting everyone buy the club”. We can get rid of the FC after our name soon…

I don’t disagree with a single thing you’ve said, but…

We may as well wish to see bigfoot riding a unicorn on most of those points, especially the WC, ticketing and an independent inquiry.

Ye, but can he run through the middle and drop into the back four in a crisis?

I get the feeling it wasn’t a bruise, thinking more along the lines of something involving a family member and a texta

Bless him…

I think it unlikely Arsenal will be sold - They have a very long-term financial commitment that would cost them a serious amount of money should they either break it or seek to alter it. It would be an extremely difficult and involved process to sell the club at the moment - not impossible - but unlikely.

I’m sorry that is exactly what you have been shouting from the rooftops for the past 3 days along with spamming the threads with every single random Twitter account you could find and made some incredibly silly comments about FSG being responsible for nothing, it’s all Klopp and the players etc etc. You are entitled to your opinion and that’s fair enough. I simply think you have shotgunned it as often as you could with as much material as you could find with a significant amount of latent glee. The ramifications of this event to the Club will be long reaching and at this point there is very little to suggest that there will be very many positive ones and if FSG are hounded out we are in a position of extreme uncertainty again with no idea who or what to expect. What happens then if the Club you love is taken over by an Oligarch, or on the other end of the scale, an Ashley or what if the investment arm of the Chinese? If FSG are hounded out do you really think level headed business people with a sense of purpose, ability and wanting to do right by the Club and its supporters are going to look at us? Do you even think such a group or person exists? Maybe we get lucky, maybe we don’t. Do you want to spin the wheel and find out, because that’s exactly what you’re inciting with your anti-FSG rhetoric. You’re kidding yourself if you’re thinking the fans and the people ‘won’ here. Nobody won, it’s not a situation where there is a winner and a loser, just pissed off owners and pissed off fans. The best thing would be for everyone to find a common ground, pick up and move on not gloat and continue to push an agenda.

So in the spirit of being able to have an opinion and express it, I think you need to give your head a wobble.

What a shambles of a statement that has been released by FSG. Thanking the stakeholders…no fckin respect for the fans and no apology of any sort. Arrogant cunts !!!

As much as I hate every club’s owners who were part of this, the Arsenal statement below is a stark contrast to us, atleast honoring the fans.

They tried to slaughter the cow but it didn’t work out.

Now they will settle with milking it - which still gives them more than enough.

Why should they want to sell? Because they messed with the fans of this club and this sport and failed? Sell because they’re ashamed? Rich people don’t work like that.

Why does everything have to be black and white I never understand. It takes us one moment to make anyone a hero and another one to make the same person fall so hard that all good work ever done is forgotten. Be it players, manager, staff, owners - there is never a middle ground.

There’s nothing to milk without regular profits which was the whole point of ESL. To their minds, coming from the land of the NFL, the revenue stream was hyper uncertain - dependent on 11 men and a manager succeeding every year.

On top of that they have to constantly reinvest in the team to even have a chance of keeping up with the sheikhs and oligarchs. So either FFP becomes rigidly enforced to manage everyone’s costs or they find ways to reduce the uncertainty around revenue or both.

Football clubs are a fairly shit investment beyond branding potential. Branding potential is why shady billionaires partake in the sport, to lend a shine on otherwise murky reputations. And that’s the whole point. The question is what kind of shady billionaire owner we are ready to tolerate or if not then some sort of consortium which is so much worse.

Right now I bet UEFA is in a massive circle jerk rather than finally waking up. The only long term sustainable solution is to cap player wages and transfer fees as a percentage of operating revenues less related party revenues. But I cant see them having the balls to enforce.

I think there needs to be a restructuring not new ownership.

The Redbird buy in could have been perfect timing.

FSG take a step back and apologise and those of Redbird (including James) are those that do the running of the club.

I think something drastic like that needs to happen and the fans might accept that.

I think too much has been whipped up over this for things to continue as they have been.

That’s assuming the bargains and offers didn’t happen in between the Super League announcement and the club announcing we were now not going forward with it.

Exactly
FSG rescued the club from truly awful owners, and produced a blueprint for success.

The Glazers wont sell Utd. And if they are competing next season all this nonsense will be forgotten. Kroenke wont sell Arsenal, and he will be blamed for everything from Wenger to Emery. Consistency there!

Will Chelsea fans run Roman out?
Will the “Abu Dhabi out” campaign start at City???
I seriously doubt it.

Sell FSG? In 6 months we will be defending what we accuse our rivals of. We will be hated even more than we already are.
They are not the best ever owners of a club.
But the alternatives are truly worse.

Nike, Mbappe/Haaland, VVD back, Klopp extension, Lebron in a visit to build bridges, an end to this fucking nightmare season, a renewed energy and challenge and we will forget this and move on.

In separate news
SKY have promoted that dick Neville to Pope/Queen/Obama status. “The man who stopped the ESL”.
The same cunt who along with his mates destroyed the integrity of football in the lower leagues with their Salford project. In a microcosm of the ails of global football their behaviour hardly represents fairness? How fucking dare that cunt be allowed/promoted to the saviour of the beautiful game. Cringeworthy stuff.

Want a hero?
Milner
Klopp
Hendo.
Enough of deitifying that manc prick.

Fair enough, you made good points. I was emotional yesterday because what has been happening.
Everything was happening so fast and news was changing by the minute.

Wasn’t having a go at anyone Maria, I stayed out of that exchange yesterday. It was an emotion filled 48 hours, and we are all entitled to express our feelings.
Cold light of day we just need a bit of time.
And an apology from the owners would be good.

No, I see what you mean. I can’t help it, I can’t change my character, this club is part of my footballing Iife. If they apologise, it would be a start and maybe Jurgen can act as a peacemaker/ bridge between the owners and the fanbase.

Well I’m glad all that is over and we can get back to talking about football.
