The Owners - FSG

Yes, some of them are. I can only remember some of the rough numbers but Trent, Robbo, and Gomez are all on a higher base than this shows.

All of them earn more on top of their base as variable pay. In good years, quite a bit more.

Where is Solskaer’s dogs abuse for reportedly telling United fans that the Glazers have been good for the club? Everyone piled onto Klopp for not resigning
United led hypocrisy.

Fantastic post.

Great thoughts on the competing interests within a football club, and great thoughts on wanting to know the rationale FSG had with engagement in the proposed ESL. They are not stupid people, far from it, and everything they do is for a reason. I would like to see their working too.

Then again, if it was a negotiating tactic, and they knew this cack-handed attempt wouldn’t fly, but they wanted to see the level of opposition in order to prepare for whatever is coming next, they may well continue to keep their cards close to the chest.

Utd make me laugh, fans complaining about “selling their souls”. How many times can you sell something before you’ve got nothing left of it to sell? This has been an on running perspective at that club since maybe 91 or so.

WTF is Wilco and why do people think he is allowed to read the players contracts?

Who piled on Klopp to resign? I think Klopp was praised universally on Monday with his comments as was Milner and Bamford.

If you mean Twatter half of its Russian bots anyhow. Not surprised Ole thinks that way, his puppet master was often coming out in support of the Glazers and he knows without Woodward his tenure is shaky whatever people read into his false position.

So the government is to push for a fan led review of club ownership, including the possibility of implimenting a German style 50+1 ownership.

Firstly, I am concerned at this due to it being Government/Political which FIFA have very strong stance on. It was not that long ago Spain faced a ban from FIFA due to political interference in the Spanish FA. Australia faced it in the late 90s/early 2000s when the NSL and Soccer Australia collapsed in a financial mess and needed a government enquiry to sort out governing responsibility for the game in Aus, which FIFA objected to. This could have serious ramifications if not handled properly.

Second, they talk about the German style ownership, where by fans retain control via the 50+1 voting system, but I have always struggled to understand how the fans vote? so hoping the German based members might be able to explain it a bit more. Is it the ‘official’ supporters that get the vote or do various supporter groups each get their vote? If so, how is it decided which groups get to have a vote? What happens if fans reject the voting view that the fans with the voting rights took?

Also, what happens if the fans with the vote end up being ‘bought off’ by those with a financial stake and get offered various benefits and incentives ie hospitality club access, guaranteed tickets to finals, better acess to meet players and staff ect so that they are encouraged to toe the official line?

Whilst it looks a good idea, I struggle to see it being something workable as fans will often have different views and opinions, so it could lead to a fractured supporter base - and we have seen how big a difference the Anfield support can make - do we want to take any risk of fracturing and dividing it?

It’s basically a system which allows club members to elect their representatives on the board. Every four years or so, an election is held. As far as I know, every season card holder is a club member, or a ‘socio’, as they call it in Spain. Surely, there are differences from club to club and from country to country, but basically, that’s it.

It’s not that the fans interfere with the day-to-day running of the club, or anything like that. It’s just that the board members will be judged every four years or so on the results of their work. Accordingly to their success, they will be re-elected or not.

Regarding the wages post, it did tickle me, because the amount of news feeds that have stated Nat Phillips is on 65k a week is ridiculous. Its even more stupid that they havent actually questioned it themselves

Also, Ben Davies reportedly on £60k per week!! Not a chance, I’m not even sure he actually exists! He’s more likely to be in the 10-15k a week bracket, for doing absolutely nothing.

I don’t think it work work here. Fans are too volatile and unrealistic. Can you imagine SOS getting a seat on the board. The club would be absolutely crippled.
