You can thank my zoom and my motive. I wasn’t conscious of the lights as such, but of course I took the picture because the sun was shining and it was a really nice morning.
I wish I had a better lens so I could zoom like that and still get a very sharp photo. But I wanted the zoom, so it’s a trade off. Picture looks like it is from 1992. But I suppose it’s a good one ![]()
But the light and scene caught your eye, and that’s the important bit. You can now go hunting for it and let it help you think about a scene. I could go into some things on how and why the composition works. This is something that comes with practice but you’ve nailed it here. Perhaps another day for that.
The main difference after that is that photographers will edit photos to bring out those features and enhance the subject, the buildings in this case. And everyone has their own particular style in this.
