No criticism here but I’d crop this. Probably a few other adjustments would really make this pop. Basically you’ve got a great starting point
I’m not a photographer, I just took a few pics of a really cool moment out on the water. actually put down the fly rod and just enjoyed it.
And that’s exactly why I enjoy it. Just out and seeing stuff, same with the fishing. When I have my camera I actually look at the world in a totally different way.
I’m going to start dragging out my wife’s Nikon for certain trips. criminally underused piece of equipment
So many times I get a half decent shot with my phone, and wish I had the Canon rig
Same. I’ve kind of let it “sleep” over the Summer but with the lower sun and shorter days now its time to wake it up and get out there with it. Autumn is well and truly on the way now.
Awesome. Those shafts of lights through the clouds are straight out of a fantasy movie scene.
Here’s a few more from that day
on this picture you can just see the faintest of smoke lines along the top of the water in the distance. that’s from the campfires of the campground behind that point. one of my favorite places to camp. Place called Gold Creek
That’s a big float you using there S…
Just what monster fish are in that lake :0)
He’s trying to catch Ogopogo
LOL! This is Alouette Lake about 30min from my home. some big lake trout and Kokanee (land-locked salmon as a result of this being a man-made lake with a hydroelectric dam on it) but I haven’t been fishing by those methods yet. Requires trolling motor, downriggers and depth sounder and such which I’ve not purchased yet. in the future, maybe but it’s such a passive way of fishing I’m not sure I would enjoy it. And since it’s a flooded river valley there’s still some deadheads down there that can snag your setup and cause all sorts of problems if you go too deep. you can see two small boats along the far shoreline which are trolling in that picture. usual speed about 1.5-2km/h troll speed with a willow-leaf flashing gang troll
There’s a line of bouys demarking the bottom section of the lake nearest the dam and family beach where powered boats must stay below 10km/h as there’s quite a number of kayaks and paddleboards which frequent the area.
campgrounds on the far side of the lake just out of view which are boat-access only, $5/pp per night fee including food lockup area to keep bears out of the tents
View from opposite side of lake on a summer day. Bit hazy from forest fire a few hundred km away
North Fork Nooksack River two weeks ago. Beautiful stretch of water and very unique that it can be accessed from state hwy #9 right to the riverbed. Did a little fishing
Is that a photo of the Basilica of Superga?
It’s a phenix, can’t you believe it.
It’s mount Etna erupting.
Yes it’s messing with my head, I’d prefer it the right way up so easier to understand. Just too old for these games.
