Diagnosed with dementia at 57. Was 52 when first got symptoms..

Feisty guy but a great player. Can’t believe it was that long ago when they won the gold…

That autumn all the football and rugby lads started trying to play hockey at lunch time in school and almost all of them wanted to be Sherwani. Kerly was the other one, but Sherwani was the exciting one.

I played the game for 25 years and got to County standard and did play against a young Kerly on one occasion. Not sure I ever played against Sherwani but both of them are a good bit younger than me.

Top and bottom front teeth are false as a result…

Played mixed hockey at college but footy came first, mixed hockey, great way to meet girls :face_with_tongue:

Sean Kerly, thats a name I haven’t heard in a long time

RIP to George Neeson. None for you know him, one of the original team members going back to 1979. he was our #10 for many years, hasn’t been actively playing in a decade but still showed up for the odd game and our events (golf tournament, Christmas dinner, etc). He passed from a stroke not long after having surgery to remove brain cancer. He was 62. The lads celebrated him tonight, unfortunately the timing coincided with my son’s birthday party. He was one of the best, will be missed

The quintessential Japanese baddie

I hated him as a kid because he played Shang Tsung - but as a grown-up, I loved him in The Man in the High Castle. Wonderful actor. Rest in peace.

i dont want to speak ill of the dead,

so i’ll say something nice…

i’m glad Tom lived long enough to see the club he was swindled out of owning go on and be crowned Champs of Europe and England twice, and win numerous other trophies

I hope it gave him a little glow, knowing that club had survived, after ownership was wrestled from him, and had grown stronger into this multi billion pound machine we have now

RIP Tom.

I was just thinking that he was the guy that did the New Brighton ones. There’s more here:

I actually remember New Brighton then. I think he did them some favours with those shots.
