Re Glenn Roeder:
Always wondered why he didn’t get more gigs after West Ham but this nice piece from Louise Taylor suggests he was a genuinely decent guy.

No VAR… how exciting were those games eh
Noo no no no no no-more
Very bad way to go.
Pray he gets eternal bliss now.
RIP Murray Walker. Passed away, age 97yrs.
Sad day, if ever a voice defined a sport, it’s Murray’s. Good knock though, I’ll take 97 now
Someone that had an infectious love for his sport.
Truly one of the greats from what was surely a golden age of middle weight and welter weight boxers. His fight with Thomas Hearns is a classic of the decade, both men throwing caution to the wind in the first round. Also, I think, he’s generally regarded as a pretty good fellow as well.
Having said all that, with all we know about head trauma, it’s time to end these brutal blood sports like boxing and MMA for all time.
Saw Yaphet Kotto has passed away today. One of my favourite actors. Can’t believe he was 81…
Sabine of Ring and Topgear fame had spun off for the last time
RIP Peter Lorimer, what a player.
RIP Peter Lorimer. I remember him well, what a player he was.
Yes RIP Lorimer I mentioned him in one of my post bemoaning the fact that we did not have a striker who can hit the ball hard from 40 to 50 yards like him against low block teams.
Frank Worthington. He very nearly joined us from Huddersfield back in the day but we weren’t happy with with his medical apparently, so the deal fell through. He was a technically-gifted attacking player with flair to spare, and he went on to have quite a successful career. RIP.
Another victim of Alzheimer’s disease I believe…
At the time I was quite surprised we were after him as he had a reputation for being “difficult”. Like Bestie he was a bit of a loose cannon but undoubtedly a joy to watch.
Saw quite a bit of him at Leicester. Brilliant player. Typical seventies maverick type, but a genius on his day.
Actor George Segal has died, aged 87. One of my favourite actors from his film roles but most recently seen in the The Goldbergs tv show.
