Is this because I didn’t really like the Berlin Game so shelved it

Another great Liverpool actor, Tom Georgeson, has died.

Possibly best remembered for his role in Boys From The Blackstuff, I was just watching one of his Doctor Who roles the other day. I actually thought one of his best series was Between the Lines, which is now seemingly forgotten: it was very much a precursor to Line Of Duty.

He always seemed to give a solid performance, whichever role he played. Maybe didn’t grab the headlines but a solid and reliable member of any cast he was in.

I saw a comment on Facebook where someone was saying that they didn’t know his name but totally recognised the actor when they looked him up. It’s the same with many character actors, and I actually find them more interesting than your standard movie star.

I’m sure this has been misreported. Death has been Chuck Norrised.

Only retired 2 weeks ago, bit like those blokes waiting for retirement and counting down their calendar.

Alternatively, retirement killed him! Coached Romania at the end as a final hurrah and bookend for his career. A day after his resignation, he was hospitalized after experiencing a cardiac emergency and never recovered. RIP.

Since Jon Krakauer’s Into Thin Air, I have fallen in love with reading adventurous non-fiction: Chomolngma (Everest), K2, North and South Poles, and explorers like Fridtjof Nansen, Roald Amundsen and many others.

RIP.

Worth posting this. If you are familiar with Kraftwerk, the use of the samples is pure genius:

Just heard that Asha Bhosle has died. There are no superlatives fitting to describe her greatness. Absolutely one of the greatest singers ever. On a par with Aretha Franklin, Mercedes Sosa, Cesaria Evora or anyone else.

Very sad  Always loved Asha.
