There are more details regarding the death of Gene Hackman. No foul play, but it sounds even more tragic. It makes a case for checking on elderly neighbours.

The actor Simon Fisher-Becker has died. He was probably best known for playing a ghost in Harry Potter and the bright blue Dorium in Doctor Who, but he also appeared in the Merseyside based sitcom, Puppy Love.

I met him a couple of times and he was a very funny chatty guy. He had a great story about a make-up artist confusing him with Ian McNeice: seemingly they hadn’t expected two “round” actors on set.

Was completely unaware he hadn’t acted for over 20 years. Guess since he played so memorable roles in movies you see time to time, it felt like he never went away.

RIP George Foreman - 76yrs -

Foreman was inducted into boxing’s Hall if Fame in 2003. He retired in 1997 after a career of 76 wins and five defeats. A remarkable 68 of his 76 victories were inside the distance. ‘Big George’ was always linked to Ali thanks to their famous fight in Zaire in 1974 but he is a boxing icon in his own right. Foreman beat Frazier twice either side of his clash with Ali and had famous wins over Ken Norton and Ron Lyle.

I remember my mum going to the shop getting ‘The George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-Reducing Grilling Machine’. It was fantastic.

Fine actor. The Saint.

Bittersweet that he got to reprise his iconic role as Iceman in the top gun sequel.
But that’s still fitting that it was his final role.
