Massive feeling old moment occurred today.

I was reading today about the vacancy at RSL in the MLS and one of the candidates is a lad I used to play with. I was in my mid 20s and he was a teen who was already being touted for big things and ultimately would far surpass the rest of us. But given that age difference when we first met whenever Ive read about what he’s up to I always think of him as a kid (which I accept by itself makes me an old git). Yet he’s now not only finished his playing career but it well into his post-playing career, which cannot be true because that would make me old…

I always think Milner as old and yet I’m 2 years older :rofl:

I knew when Gerrard retired that would officially leave me older than any of our players.

Is he better than Arat Hosseini though? :man_shrugging:t2:

So despite what the FA say and all of their lip service, they really don’t give a shit about racismand kicking it out of football

To Gillingham and their players, I say well fucking done. It’s about time players and clubs took a stronger stance

These local FA’s are usually run by imbeciles, to save face someone from higher up should be jumping on that and saying are you stupid sadly the answer is yes.

I see Cardiff are still disputing the £15m transfer fee that they owe to Nantes for Sala.

Seems a bit offside for me personally - a man has died as a result of the crash - Cardiff come across (to me) as being more concerned about the loss of the money - albeit for a club like Cardiff I imagine its a massive amount. Legally speaking they may well have a case therefore my opinion might be wayward. Just feels like the loss of Sala’s life is bigger than this. I’d also assume Cardiff should have some kind of insurance to cover these things, albeit judging on the fact that the Flight organiser has been found guilty, it may be that there wont be a pay out.

From the SSN article;

There is also the ongoing dispute between Nantes and Cardiff over who is responsible for the payment of the £15m transfer fee.

Football’s authorities - UEFA and FIFA - have both ruled on that already and said that Cardiff would have to pay that £15m. Cardiff have appealed that decision and it will go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport next year.

That may not be the end of the matter because recently, the Cardiff chairman, Mehmet Dalman, suggested at a supporters’ meeting that even if Cardiff were not successful in that appeal, they may still pursue this matter through the French courts.

I’m not sure FIFA has ruled that Cardiff had to pay the full fee yet, only that they should make the first instalment that was due. Cardiff then appealed at that stage and it’s working through CAS at the moment although there have been some delays.

It does look unseemly to squabble over these details, I agree, but you can see it from both sides. If someone is going to have to pay out £15m it’s understandable that those potentially on the hook will dispute their liability.

You’d hope they’d agree to split it 50/50 and then send the money to his family. And you know… Not be utter cunts about a tragedy.
