brilliant stuff,

i wish the mighty Clachnacuddin could have a former star player for a game,

we’d probably still lose though…

Something that we do not pay too much attention to (Pre- & post-match press conferences translators), but important.

Also did not know that Mourinho started out in football as an interpreter.

He didn’t really. He was added to Robson’s team at Sporting to help with communication, but he was already a professional coach before that and it was still a coaching role.

Before that he was Robsons translator at Barca.

That is one of the reasons he has such a hard on for beating them, and Pep. Pep was one of the ring leaders at Barca that gave him the nickname the translator

After that. He followed Robson from Sporting to Porto and then to Barca.

But calling it a translator is a misnomer, possibly given as a purposeful insult by those who didnt like him, or came to not like him later. The job at Sporting came up because Robbo wanted help communicating with the players, but it was still a coaching role for which only coaches were considered, and every other role he took with Robson was taken as a trusted footballing assistant.

Didnt know that. I always thought they first worked together at Barca then moved from there.

Didnt Mourinho say his translations were not always faithful to the original comments from Bobby?

And who can blame him. He’d first have to correct all of Robson’s famous mistakes of identity!

Seems like such an odd couple really. Robson always came across as a decent, nice gentleman.
