Sorry for the delay in answering…
But NOPE, no-one is even close with the correct answer… :0)
Here he is again. There is a clue in this picture.
Doubt anyone will believe who it is when they find out…
Will give it a few more hours for any wannabee Miss Marple’s out there
10 hours later:
Are you posting from another planet interstellar stylee?
I fell asleep… :0)
I thought I’d seen that picture recently before but it’s not liverpool related. Boy George?
Spot on… I thought with it being off-season any subject that passes the time is fair game…
Anyway, being the victor it is entirely up to you, but if ya delete the answer others will continue to scratch their heads :0)
never heard off him.
which club did he play for?
was he any good, a cultured midfielder or anything?
Poirot is better
Case closed :0)
Wondering how this was football related
Yeah, let’s keep things in this thread related to football, yeah?
There’s plenty of off-topic threads to deal with other stuff.
Ok, football (and liverpool) related. Who’s this man - and why the three* fingers?
*PS it has nothing to do with Guardiola although this player may have played against him
It’s Aldridge at the 1994 World Cup. Can’t remember the context
If I had put the question in the music thread the answer would have been a dead give away… :0)
Okay point taken…
Although would have thought anything that generates a bit of interest amongst some on here was the whole point of the forum, whether it is considered relevant to the title thread or not… Not exactly a hive of activity at the moment is it so I can take the critique… Note to self, must do better :0)
Yeah John Aldridge…
He lost the plot with someone if I can recall, the fourth official not letting him enter the field of play or something
Republic of Ireland with Jack Charlton as their manager… World Cup
Surely should be in ex players thread
Wasn’t that where they were trying to get water to the players but the officials wouldn’t let them?
Yeah I think it was related to water as temperatures were hot.
Probably shows Fifa being idiotically behind again
No, watch the video - it was cos Aldridge wasnt being allowed on after Ireland subbed player off and they conceded while down to 10. He came on and scored the goal that put them through to the knock out round. It’s a nice clip, replete with swearing you didn’t often hear on camera then
Wasn’t the context in relation to the 4th official being slow to hold up the board for a substitution?
