It was to do with the officials not letting them make a sub. It was absurdly hot, one of the first times I remember they being in game water breaks and they were desperate to make a sub to get fresh legs on and the officials restarted the game without making the sub on multiple occasions saying Ireland were not ready.
JA himself explains it was more to do with them holding him back as a substitute
I had z stadium tour and a meet and greet with Aldo earlier in the year. It was very good. Lovely fella is Aldo.
Sound as a pound, you could say.
Mourinho linked with the PSG manager job.
Mbappé
Kate Abdo asked “one club you wish you had played for, but you didn’t”.
Henry’s response: Liverpool.
Had a good feeling he’d say us.
But Henry was a total dick on implying that it was LFC fans’ problem at the CL match, without finding out more before opening his mouth. He kept on saying that how come it didn’t affect the RM fans. Prick.
Only so that he could leave Carragher on his arse in training every day.
He even sounded really ignorant of Hillsborough when Carragher brought that up. Not interested in the club or it’s history.
May justice be served.
Its scary that a person who goes out of home to watch a match and life to never be the same again in a bad way. We Liverpool fans would know this the best. YNWA.
Following on from a convo in the Sadio thread, 42 LFC players in total have scored the winning goal in a 1-0 (league) win since 00/01.
I’m sure many here could name all 42, at least via the scattergun if nothing else, but to narrow it down; only three players have done it five times; one player has done it four times, and four players have done it four times.
We’ve won two games 1-0 via own goals in that time, as well. Double points if anyone can name who scored those.
3 players five times?
Sadio, Gerrard, Torres?
4 players 4 times, or 1?
Mo, Owen, Suarez, Sturridge if it’s 4
2 own goals…
Ferdinand, Lascelles?
Sadio and Torres are correct.
Mo’s the only player to have done it four times.
Owen and Sturridge three times.
Surprisingly, Stevie only did it twice, and Suarez only once.
Yeah, Suarez makes sense because we were never low scoring (or good enough defesively) to have 1-0s.
Bit of a Wild Card, but Danny Murphy on the list
Ok, 1 surprising entry is Heskey. I can also remember one of the OG games as well as I grew up playing with him - Marco Delaney for (against?) Villa.
There you go. Sadio, Torres and Heskey are the only players to have done it five times. Murphy 3x. And Delaney was indeed one of the OG’s.
So what do we have left…one player who did it 3 times and one OG?
Others I’m going to throw out - Origi? Phil? Benteke?
