At the end of the day, it is a game of football. You play 90 odd minutes and shake hands. Games should be played within the spirit of a game - everything else harms the game. Rubbing a loss into the opponents face (or in this case using a trophy as a cod piece) is as childish as it is uncouth and for me, outside of the spirit of the game.
p.s. Robo is not play in the same league

Yeah , I’d agree with this.
As far as your point against Martinez goes , it’s fair. I can see why you’d think that way.
My point is the game is being made worse with the playacting , referee buying , cheating etc etc as it is. Martinez’s antics while not setting an example for children , aren’t nearly in the same benchmark.
Id rather parents tell the kids that the actions of some footballers aren’t acceptable. They are players like Ronaldo (accused of worse crimes) and kids actively take him as a role model.
To be honest that’s just his own viewpoint. Nostalgia is just boring.
Like he didn’t retire that long ago and Beckham is older than him.

It’s also part of a larger quote where he says he quit playing football because he didn’t recognise the sport anymore and can’t relate to young players… but he quit to become Bayern Munich U17 manager.
His current job?.. Manager of FC Nurnberg who have sixteen first team players aged 22 or younger.
Also - criticising players for having names on their shoes… after winning the golden boot in the 2006 World Cup that next season for Wolfsburg he wore a pair of golden personalized football boots with “WC 06 Top Scorer” written on them and the names of his kids on each tongue
