Ajax goalie gets caught taking a banned substance. Authorities believe his explanation and Onana has taken responsibility and so doesnt object to the ban from playing. But the ban extends to all footballing activities making him an outcast. Win the title - not allowed to participate despite earning a medal. Needs to stay in shape - cannot practice with the team. Kid has a game - cannot go an watch it.

That is simply part of the requirement for getting your UEFA Pro Licence.
Sure but his sounded like fairly empty waffle of a ‘thesis’ given how long he played the game and that he was doing this supposedly because he had some football ideas he wanted to impart. Cf Conte who talked all about psychology and the mental part of the game and how he has subsequently managed. Along with taking the reins at Juve with, what was it one weeks experience at u23 level (?), suggests a certain egotistical attitude.
I really don’t get where you’re coming from with this. The thesis is the central part of the premier coaching qualification in the world. It is something that is given extremely broad latitude in scope, as long as it is focused on what you would do as a coach to implement the ideas. Pirlo’s was about the importance of possession and how to manipulate shape in the context of a game with fluid dynamics to best achieve that. It is considered one of the most highly regarded thesis projects since the qualification was introduced.
