Nice story about Christmas Day football.
Konate and VVD say, “Hold my beer”
In case someone wonders what’s next for ten Hag, he’s been appointed as Twente’s new technical director, where he will begin in February.
Soccer subreddit already talked about EtH going to sign a lot of players from SEG agency. I guess that are a history of him signing players from SEG? ![]()
Plenty of matches but nothing interesting. What a boring football Sunday.

Seeing Tottenham lose to Villa at home and United to Brighton is not even a surprise anymore, but almost expected.
Nope, fans don’t really care until it affects them, see the clamour say at Man Utd for a rich arab owner.
If say tomorrow people uprise in Saudi Arabia and it becomes a mess and Newcastle get caught up in it they will all be moaning.
See the Chelsea bellends still going on about Uncle Roman, ignorant that he was just an asset stripper who was in the right place at the right time with Vladdy.
Listening to an interview with Ludovic Giuly.
He says that his biggest regret is that he never played in England, mostly because of the atmosphere.
Says that he had the option of going to Chelsea when he was leaving Monaco for Barcelona.
And then another chance was Liverpool, when Rafa called at some point in the summer of 2006 (just as Barca won the league, CL and Spanish Supercopa near the end of the transfer window).
He says if he knew Messi was gonna become what he became and take his position on that right side of attack, he would’ve left.
Though I think by the summer of 2006, playing and training, he maybe should’ve had a good idea what’s coming…
He turned 31 that summer.
he was a cracking player and i actually think i remember us being rumoured.
he was a cracking Benetiz type player.
technically better than Kuyt, had we signed Kuyt by then?.. cant imagine the two of them in same Rafa Team
Yes, I think that was the summer when Rafa had that choice of either going big for Alves, or ultimately deciding to go for Pennant and Kuyt (it took a while for him to become our first choice RW, that was more in the second part of 07/08), two players for the amount.
So maybe Giuly was one of our RW alternatives. I remember us being linked with many wingers at the time, since it was a position we were struggling with, especially to create difference in games where we have to break teams down. Stelios Giannakopoulos was also one.
Apart from well known examples, Simao…
I like hearing these little things from the past, like little pieces of puzzle (ones you didn’t know even existed) what was happening and what almost happened.

Freddie Potts, young player in the West Ham, named his “5 people to invite to dinner” in the club’s pre-match magazine. His picks were Donald Trump, Cristiano Ronaldo, Elon Musk, Ricky Gervais and Ed Sheeran.
West Ham captain Max Kilman, asked the question, selected Donald Trump, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cristiano Ronaldo, Travis Scott and Kevin Hart.
Interesting dressing room they’ve got down there.
Freddie Potts, would have been fun with Gervais giving it to the others LOL
This would reduce goals and a trial in kids tournaments would tell you nothing.
No No No, it doesn’t change anything it will still be the same margins, what it will change are teams becoming even more defensive minded and sitting deeper.
Grrrrrrrr leave the rules alone!
That’s why I said there will be less goals and less of an entertaining game to watch.
