The Random Football Debate Thread

Had some good guests on, but sometimes too many ex Manure players

Watching Everton vs Man Utd last night was like watching the fucking Royal Rumble or last man standing in a wrestling ring. Ref looking at players being pulled, pushed, floored with one booking, on Tarkowski.
It was muck, and a sad commentary on where football is at. Everton had loads of second half corners with zero invention. Load players around the keeper and hit inswingers which he took comfortably every time. Nothing changes.

This is the game, set pieces, keep the ball, wrestling matches…its becoming more boring by the day.
Arsenal the top team in the PL are boring as fuck. City minus Haalands running at defenders is boring as fuck. Liverpool at the moment??

Players like Frimpong and Rio at Liverpool are the shining lights, unpredictable and that may well cost them as they might yield up too much possession. There are examples in the league if players trying things, but their teams are not chasing honours.

I truly despair after watching that shite last night.

Don’t know why you’d do that to yourself Quickster, our match was painful enough.

I thought you said it was excellent performance by Man Utd?

One of my polish colleague just sent me this with the comment “Juve’s most under rated foreign player” and I’ve crying ever since

You know with corners right, you know how the corner taker always places the ball somewhere close to the line, but not on it? What possible advantage is gained by this? I always thought the ball should be on the line, after all, that’s the purpose of the line being there. It has no other function.
It bugs the fuck out of me every time.

The ball is a sphere so it isn’t the base of the ball that defines if it’s in the D.

More room for the kicking action, I have seen players kick the corner flag and also put the ball down on the wrong side for their kicking foot, NUMPTYS

I just saw someone posted this on reddit, which is a little bit of bright light to humanity and current state of football.

Reggiana’s Tommaso Fumagalli kicks the ball out of play after Südtirol’s goalkeeper Alessio Cragno gets injured

That’s the fairplay award sorted for this year then.

It’s time to turn away from his social media posts.

Don’t get me wrong - I did that at least a year ago when I realised how much of a chancer and a fraud he was. I’m glad that a proper researching journalist finally took him to task.

Yeah I do remember when he first came to mass attention and he was at that time looked at someone very unreliable. His hit rate improved but I think this now seems why.

I remember that bloke in his bedroom who seemed to be 100% legit. Always someone on the internet who will go bat for you

Gary off YouTube has just done a piece where he slags off all the other influencers for living in Dubai and sucking up to petro states. He lives in a suburb of Luton apparently.
When asked how he gets his inside information he was painfully honest: ‘I just make it all up!’ he replied.

Man of the people :+1:t4:

Doing the Telegraph free 7 day thing is a ball ache and the other link doesn’t open for me. Since it is free, would you mind a copy and paste? I’m quite interested to read it.

Sent the articles to you via PM. I do not want the possibility of posting the entire articles here getting the site in trouble.

I follow him. I didn’t know he wasn’t a sports joirnalist :person_facepalming:t4:

Not worth it for such a shit newspaper.

Interesting this… A conspectus of time wasting like this from every game, should be put on Gobshite Howard Webbs desk for him to do his sums…
In my opinion, the PGMOL will never improve with him in charge

What in the world has football turned into lately? These stats from Elland Road Tuesday night really highlight how much of the game is being overlooked…
