The Referees or The Twelfth Man

I was going to say this feels a bit of a puritanical pile on as while it isnt a great look getting caught doing some class As it shouldnt be viewed as evidence he cannot do his job. But then I realized he was at the Euros as a VAR official. That does make it a disqualifyingly shit level of judgement for someone whose entire professional role is based on making sound judgements.

Ha ha ha, good one that fella. Have you not considered I might have already done my research and thatā€™s why I asked you to give the dates involved?

At a hotel paid for by UEFA. Heā€™s a sad coke-addicted cunt and deserves everything thatā€™s coming to him.

I think the PGMOL have got suspicions that there is something not quite right upstairs with David Cooteā€¦ They are mentioning their concern for his well-being.
For all the wrongs he has done, hope something like this doesnā€™t put him beyond the tipping point.
Erring on the side of caution here and holding my council from hereon in, by not adding any more misery to what is being heaped upon him atmā€¦

His world has exploded in the space of 24 hours and he has gone from a 6 figure salary with perks like all expenses paid trips to Germany to possibly (likely?) never working again. Iā€™d be a fuckin wreck if that happened to me.

I bet his coke dealer is making a killing though

Iā€™m now predicting the end of Howard Webb at PGMOL. We all know it stinks to the core and I think a lot will come out soon.

Questions will be asked. If not by FA surely by UEFA and FIFA. Is Coote the only English ref doings drugs?

Nobody cared about refs private lives so far but that is over now and journalist will be looking for any kind of dirty laundry.

Exactly. No one wants anyone to go to such a dark place.

If PMGOL had any concerns, then putting him in charge of matches is negligence.
He should be on gardening leave, receiving treatmmentā€¦if required.
Using his mental health now as an excuse for poor behaviour is bang out of order on their behalf.

Why do you describe him as that? I usually enjoy his articles, though this one is ridiculous and I might have missed others youā€™re referring to

All referees should be tested for drugs before or after matches, like the football players have to give a sample.

Totally agree. There is an issue with respect for/abuse of referees, but thatā€™s a different conversation.

To excuse potential bias, racism and drug use while on a work trip as being down to pressure is shocking.

Looks like you answered your own question.

Coote has been getting blackmailed for ages hasnā€™t he? I guess he ran out of money

Cocaine is an expensive habitā€¦no wonder he ran out.

Nope. Took your post at face value and in good faith, clearly my second mistake today.

Third if you count voicing a slightly different opinion to the consensus shared by a group of people on the internet.

Probably get killed for this when I get back to Berlin, but I never thought that was handball. Cucurellaā€™s arm was behind his body and moving towards it when the ball was fired at it from a very short distance. Thereā€™s literally nowhere else it could be, short of amputation.
Of course, seen them given and all that, but I thought it was a fair decision.

Thats efficiency mate - you only need to remember it one day a yearā€¦

And heā€™d only a few posts earlier said

Course you would, around the same time that the referees body voluntarily owns up to its bias.
