The Referees or The Twelfth Man

Except they are now claiming that there was no conclusive proof that the initial foul was outside the box.

Which is true, isn’t it?

Well if there was no contact, then the player was presumably taking a dive.

I just think that they didn’t want to pull the ref over for a marginal error. It would just help if they could keep their story consistent.

The PGMOL told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.

Yeah only saw that in real time

Was about to say the same

There was another angle from the side that shows the contact better and to me was conclusive that the contact was outside the area

Did they? From what I recall, no contact was inside the box.

Of course it does to you Rambler.
To the vast majority of people the foul is outside the box.

Yeah, let’s celebrate the win while posting pictures and arguing it should have been a penalty.
Let us know what West Ham and Grimsby fans think.

There is a better angle picture that shows the foul happens outside the penalty area.
I can’t do pictures…
The angle of the @Rambler pic is really a poor viewpoint for a decision to be made.

Lallana isn’t a dirty player, but that tackle happens vs City and its a red card.

But hey, the refs are all very fair now that Coote has been exposed.

This one possibly?

Yep the 1st pic clearly shows the contact on the ankle is outside the area

Look, the Blue Loon doesn’t think so, they think Robertson should have been sent off for that egregious act so obviously we’ve gotten lucky here, LiVARpool and all that…

It really is marginal so part of me thinks its silly arguing about, and is one of those old school ones where you criticize the defender for giving the ref the opportunity to give a pen. But this is exactly what VAR is supposed to be for - either where a ref drops a clanger and VAR gives us a chance for a do over, or there is a close call on some objective issue of fact and we use tech to help the ref make the right decision.

Nothing in that. The barge on Endo at the end and even Kelleher colliding into Armstrong were far bigger shouts.

Just another day where the officials get it horribly wrong.
