The other kicker is that in the most recent episode of Mic’d Up, Webb said about the Ndidi incident from the other week that the refs have debated it and collectively agree it is an incident they’d prefer to see as red than yellow. Then the very next week Pereria does a carbon copy of it and gets only a yellow, minutes before he went on to score the opening goal
I would really like to hope the club look at the bigger picture here and challenge it - rules are rules, and just because the misuse of them (on this occasion) isn’t massively damaging to us, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t challenge it. Don’t want PGMOL/Refs to have precedent to continue to do their job badly
I think you can raise concern with the decision without formally appealing. And given the appeal has no guarantee of being succesful, taking that path runs the risk of keeping him available for a game we’d be ok with him not playing (suspension is delayed pending the appeal decision) only for him to then have his suspension upheld for the Spurs game.
If the club are confident that it shouldnt be a red, the challenge should go in, imo, regardless of the risk of him subsequently missing the Spurs fixture.
If im in a position of authority i wouldn’t listen to general moans about a decision, instead waiting for formal and proper process to take place.
Club will know what to do.
Regarding Robo’s sending off, it amazes me how poor VAR is, should have me in there
My quote during the game upon seeing the replay.
I am concerned about both.
The Coote saga isn’t helping us.
You would think the cheating cunts might wind it back a bit after their mate was sacked?
The Gomez penalty claim wasn’t egregious enough for me to be too angry over. I thought it was a penalty shout, definitely seen them given and not given, so at that point I’m not overly upset.
I was upset with the foul play they did, that wasn’t punished properly, and I also thought Robbo’s sending off was a bit harsh as Virg was still actively defending the situation and it wasn’t a clear run on goal for them.
I’m pretty sure the ban can’t be served in the cup game. Didn’t they change that?
It carries over into the cups if you receive 2 yellows in a game or a straight red.
Only time it doesn’t serve in the cup is the accumalation, i.e 5, 10 yellows.
Facts @The-AllMightyReds
It’s less about whether the club are confident it shouldn’t be a red, and more about how confident they are that it would be overturned. That’s the key point.
Being a cup game adds another layer to it as well, and with no certainty over the outcome of an appeal, it makes sense to just take the suspension for the cup game and plan ahead for the league fixtures.
The key point of difference in our views is all
Given the clubs post, they’re not bothering.
I would not disagree. Question is, how good are you with lines?
I used to do 100 lines a lot at school, so good, oh different lines, not good with the size of my hooter not aloud to participate
Considering Coote was so good at drawing lines why was he so poor on VAR
Coote has decided not to appeal his dismissal:
My feeling on this is that PGMOL will have an arrangement for him to go quietly. The last thing they want is dirty washing in the tabloids.
They will be complicit with fixing him with a stint in the Sand Dunes at some future point… Although I read an article where Coote has been bragging, if Howie can get £15k for a one night after dinner speech… he is contemplating asking for £10k for doing the same, as he has a trove of information that could keep him going for years…!
Either way, not sure any of us have heard the last of Mr David Coote… Bit like BoJo wanting to remain relevant, this guy is a similar buffoon
I see this as a good thing though - I’ve no issue with Coote coming out and telling all. Maybe confirming suspicions of dodgy business over at PGMOL. Bufoon wise, agree, but this one I will listen to. Fk BoJo
Suspect Coote has a fixed amount of time he has to remain silent, and will be getting some money out if his silence - but once he’s racked up a few lines, anything is possible.
Swearing?
