So David Cootes has now apologised and reflected on his actions and lack of professionalism. Now, I donāt know if he has done it deliberately as another dig at The Club/Fanbase or he is simply just that stupid but guess what Rag he sold his story toā¦.

I have some sympathy with him over his sexuality as that is the sort of thing that the tabloids would be all over. But I canāt see that it is any defence for the drug taking, betting scams and general incompetence.

I think its really poor to use mental health issues and sexuality in a battery of excuses for his behaviour. Its playing on people giving sympathy where its really not due.
His choice of interview outlet is beyond comprehension. If his apology to Klopp is meant to be genuine then why put it in that cesspit?
Klopp wouldnāt speak to the rag, so how is he to process an apology in it? Thats fucking nonsense.
Mental health and sexuality are serious issues for people in society. Either or both might lead to drug taking, might lead to poor choices. But for either to be wheeled out as a routine excuse only serves to compound the original failing.

So many people play this card we have no idea whether itās true or not.
Confusing about his choice of Rag though. Werenāt they the lads who destroyed his career in the first place? Imagine having to crawl back to them cap on hand. What a way to shed any remaining dignity.

The problem is that those with genuine mental health issues are often reluctant to come forward with it for fear that it will be weaponised against them. Itās the same with sexuality. Iād like to think it wouldnāt be an issue, but I have already seen someone using the ārent boyā slur on social media.
Incidentally, has the FA published the full report into Coote or was it only his dismissal that was made public?

If his story was genuine, then he wouldnāt have gone to that cesspit paper for his interview? He is using genuine peoples everyday difficulties to absolve him from blame for his stupidity.
