The Referees or The Twelfth Man

As long as they ref the game on what they see and apply the rules but when you hear the gladiators ref said that he tried to get the crowd on their side early on then we have no chance tomorrow because the last time Oliver reffed this fixture van dyke was dismantled and out of the game for a year and a few more were injured and nobody got sent off. Even slot in his pregame press conference today who watched last years game and candidly said after 10 min they got 10 free kicks and us one for just touching them. I hope I am wrong and moyes seems to have got better since his two stints with west ham and will get them playing football hard but fair.

To be fair didnā€™t he send Richarlison(?) for the challenge that put Thiago out.

Yes I forgot about that one but he deserved it as he was trying very hard to kick people.
You saw how he behaved with Virgil playing for spuds he is a total idiot.

Writing this post the morning after what everyone would probably agree uponā€¦ Michael Oliver is no longer; even if he ever was; an elite referee, based upon the evidence, of his poor performance in the derby gameā€¦

However, what springs to mind with me hereā€¦ we are playing his boyhood club in a few weeks at Wembley. Obviously, he will not be officiating because of his loyal fan support to them, but but butā€¦ and this is what is both intriguing, and worrying, did he lay down the blueprint, or marker last night with his inept one-sided approach, for one of his cronies to understand how to frustrate, and ultimately, stop our free-flowing style of attacking footballā€¦
In other words, how to beat us from the middle of the pitchā€¦!
Questions need to be raised, once again, about the poor level of refereeing standards the PL provide.

There have always been shite referees. I was reminded of something with Oliver sending off Slot. It was a completely premeditated thing. He was going to red card him for simply breathing.

Oliver has a bit of a peculiar personality about him. I remember when he sent Dalot off at Anfield, I donā€™t know what had gone on, but he clearly wanted to do him over for some reason.

Then it occurred to me. Michael Oliver is a latter day Clive Thomas. He is very good at applying the rules when it bloody suits him and turning a blind eye when it doesnā€™t. I suppose Thomas was best remembered for knocking Brazil out of the 1978 world cup, but he was notorious for giving odd decisions. Some managers even played it to their advantage by getting players to dive all over the place if Thomas was in a funny mood.

I remember the celebrations when he retired.

Ancelotti and Perez think they are the best in the world.

Wonder how much they got paid for that

Hooper the ref and Brookeā€™s on var for the wolves game I am fearful about our chances of winning the league?

Hooper at least has overseen games where we have won.

For all the crap decisions he made in that match the big issues in that Spurs game came from VAR both on the offside goal and wasnā€™t Jones a review by VAR?

Thatā€™s 30%.

When compared to our overall win percentage over that timeframe, it certainly looks more than a little suspect.

Al ā€˜littleā€™ pfft

3 or 4 of those will have been when he first appeared on the scene and was actually very good / fair.

He made his reputation reffing the early big games between us and city well.

I can only imagine they prioritised funding towards him after seeing how much of an issue him reffing then fairly was going to be.

If you look at it from the perspective of the FA and PGMOL who try to screw over Liverpool at every possible opportunity whilst also trying to keep the title race alive, then Michael Oliver is very good at his jobā€¦

Not sure about that, Arsenal supporters fucking hate him as well.

Not sure what decisions to be fair, just saying he isnā€™t exactly single handedly keeping them in it. More like he supports Citeh than anything.

Wonder whyā€¦

He likes the colour blue and maybe the colour of money

The Fenerbache v Galatasaray game on Monday night was reffed by a Slovenian Slako Vincic at the request of both clubs. I canā€™t see the Premier league ever having nuts to do this simply because they part PGMOL.
