Wissa felled by Turner but no penalty given

THE INCIDENT: Wissa puts Matt Turner under pressure in his own box and wins the ball before being brought down by the Forest goalkeeper as he attempts to clear the ball too late.

THE VAR DECISION: The incident is checked by VAR but they do not deem it a penalty and play continues.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank: “It’s a clear penalty. I think, unfortunately, that’s a mistake from VAR. Unfortunately our players are too honest. Maybe we need to be a little bit more wise than that. But I won’t say that to my players, I like honest players.”

Sky Sports pundit Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink: “The goalkeeper misjudges it and kicks the striker. If he doesn’t misjudge it, Wissa can go and score. How that is not a penalty, I’m bemused. This is a penalty. One hundred, million per cent, it’s a penalty. No discussion.”

Sky Sports pundit Michael Dawson: “Anywhere else on the pitch, that is a free-kick. I would agree that Brentford got the wrong end of the decision.”

You have been hacked :kissing_heart:

Every decision should be looked at and examined let’s start the intense scrutiny and no getting rid of VAR won’t solve it that’s a cop out for people who don’t like video assistance.

This PGMOL whoever they are need a complete independent review all cards on the table and if it’s not fit for business then let’s close it and start afresh with something that is.

Because they promised they would be?

I posted this in the Spursy match thread:

If folks haven’t read The Fix, please do. It’s not uncommon to fix or attempt to fix matches (even in grass roots leagues) and most of us don’t want to believe it.

It will be so easy! I wonder if the HMRC got something to say about that!

Have read elsewhere that it took us the last 5 years to get 5 red cards issued to us, yet in the last 7 weeks we have been issued with 4 and are sitting top of the league table for red cards.

That alone needs checking out, seriously, I know one was removed from Mac, but it’s still on our record. We have always been the good guys, and nothing there has or will change. There is an agenda, 100%.

Apparently, the assistant referee (linesman to you and me), the one that raised his flag, has become main suspect. Upon raising the flag, you are supposed to shout into the mike the reason
 as in, offside, offside.
As he never did this, it was not heard in Stockley Park, and the breakdown of communications commenced. Not sure why Hooper never told SP why he needed it checking, but now the ‘linesman’ has entered the scapegoat fray
probably to spread the blame a lot thinner than it needs to be.

If they are self-employed
they should already be a divided workforce. It is one reason why companies employ on a sub-contract basis - the old divide and conquer to prevent the unions becoming too strong
Instead of going on strike, they should just fuck off and try and find a proper job they are capable of doing successfully :0)

I would counter that by saying, I was watching a TV screen, probably showing exactly the same pictures available to Stockley Park and I did not have direct communication with the linesman. As soon as Diaz turned away after scoring, it was obvious to me the goal had been disallowed. So, if PGMOL are trying to say the whole debacle occurred because the linesman didn’t shout ‘offside’ into his microphone, that is just utter nonsense.

Can you think of one? Because I’m struggling at the moment.
